I’m a little awestruck after yesterday to be honest. 🤍 I’m completely blown away by the generosity of everyone who helped make it happen - the wonderful businesses who donated prizes, the friends and family who mucked in before and on the day, and the East Cheshire Hospice volunteers who worked like absolute trojans. A huge thank you to The Vintage Tea Service, Grown & Made for the beautiful flowers, the magnificent Airstream Photobooth, Meg Dixon-Hood for singing to us, Shaun Brady DJ on sax 🎷 and, of course, Egginton’s for the most delicious afternoon tea. It was absolutely superb! 👌 And thank you to every single person who bought a ticket, donated, bought raffle tickets or simply cheered us on from the sidelines. I’m just verifying the final figures, but between us I think we raised just over £6,000 to be split between our two incredible charities - The Christie Charity and East Cheshire Hospice. SIX THOUSAND POUNDS!! 🤯🤍 Just WOW! For now, it’s time to clear up and start emptying the tipis ready for de-rig… 🌿 Thank you. Last nights cooking class creation. Apple,, blackberry and rhubarb tart all from the garden. We started by making a silky smooth sable paste for the tart base. Then we cooked the amazing fruits down in a dry pan to release the natural sugars and juices from the fruit and to release the water which helps remove the acidity and promote natural flavours. Seasoned with a touch of sugar and of course a little blob of butter for richness. 29 Aug 2026
