I got to interview the @microsoft Digital Crimes Unit! 👩🏻‍💻🎉 Ever wondered who actually takes down cybercriminals? 👀 My latest visit to the Digital Crimes Unit at @microsoftsecurity was one of the most unique and eye-opening experiences I’ve ever had. Get a behind-the-scenes look at how the Microsoft Digital Crimes Unit operates, from learning how they investigate global cybercrime to their awesome lab tour! The level of collaboration, precision, and mission-driven work happening there is incredible. I’m so grateful for the tour, the thoughtful conversations, and the opportunity to learn directly from the people protecting users and organizations around the world every single day. Experiences like this remind me why I love being in cybersecurity. Thank you for such a warm welcome and an unforgettable learning opportunity! 🎉 1,509 likes · 25 comments · 26 Feb 2026 This is how I got every single job since college 👩🏻‍💻🎉 It rarely started with a perfect resume or a hundred online applications. It started with conversations, attending conferences, meeting hiring managers and recruiters at events while asking questions, being curious, and letting people know what I was working toward. I shared what I was learning before I felt “ready.” I reached out even when it felt uncomfortable. I said yes to opportunities that scared me a little and trusted I’d figure the rest out along the way. Applying online was never the whole strategy. It was just one small piece of a much bigger picture built on relationships, visibility, and taking initiative. If the traditional path hasn’t worked for you, it doesn’t mean you’re doing something wrong. It might just mean your opportunity is coming from a door you haven’t opened yet. Also! - I do want to mention that this doesn’t include all the part-time jobs I’ve worked since I was 13! I’ve always worked even when I was a kid but for the sake of relevancy, I’ve only included the jobs related to tech here :) Hope this was helpful ❤️ Let me know if you have any questions in the comments below! #career #youtuber #contentcreator #techie #selfemployed 646 likes · 18 comments · 31 Jan 2026 The OWASP Top 10 2025 was recently updated, here’s what you need to know 👩🏻‍💻💻 OWASP Top 10 is the list of the top most common web application vulnerabilities and is relevant for all security professionals and developers. It influences how AppSec programs mature, how engineering backlogs are prioritized, how GRC maps controls, and how risk gets communicated to leadership. Here are the key OWASP Top 10 changes: 🔗 Software Supply Chain Failures was added and expanded, replacing the older “Vulnerable and Outdated Components” focus. It now covers dependencies, build systems, and distribution pipelines. ⚠️ Mishandling of Exceptional Conditions is a new category, highlighting fail-open logic, poor error handling, and insecure behavior during abnormal states. 🔐 SSRF was merged into Broken Access Control, reinforcing that SSRF is fundamentally an authorization issue. ☁️ Security Misconfiguration moved up in ranking, reflecting the continued impact of cloud, IaC, and default configuration weaknesses. 🧠 Overall, the 2025 update shifts focus toward systemic, architectural, and supply chain risks, rather than isolated coding flaws. This is a part of my ongoing Cyber News Bytes Series, where I share relevant news and analysis with cyber professionals. The dependencies, permissions, and actions behind that code matter too. Evo by @lifeatsnyk addresses this through Agentic Development Security, which independently verifies agent output, helps secure the AI supply chain, and governs agent behavior before code ships. Its AI Security Posture Management capabilities also give teams visibility into AI components running in production, with independent risk scoring and policy enforcement. Whether you work in AppSec, cloud, SOC, or engineering, this is a shift worth understanding as agents take on more responsibility across development workflows. Check out Evo by Snyk - link in my bio! 🌟 Repost this post to share with your network 🌟 #AISecurity #DevSecOps #LLMSecurity 27 Oct 2026 These are the highest paid remote cybersecurity jobs right now, and the range might surprise you 👩🏻‍💻👀 If you have been wondering whether cyber can actually support the work from anywhere lifestyle, this is your answer, especially for more mid-level to senior roles. From cloud security to appsec, these roles are hiring distributed teams and paying six figures to do it. 💼 Swipe through to see the salary ranges, what each role actually involves day to day, and the most realistic path in if you are trying to break into one of them. Certifications matter, but so does knowing which lane to aim for. Save this for your next career move 🔐 #cybersecurity #techie #techjobs #techcareers #remotejobs 05 Nov 2026 The security team can thank us later! 😁🙌 (Also this is becoming my new favorite series, let us know what we should do next 🤣) #cybersecurity #cybersecuritytraining #cybersecurityanalyst 04 Nov 2026 Here’s everything we know so far about the Binance hack for $6.34 billion dollars 👩🏻‍💻💻 According to Binance’s preliminary findings, the attack involved fake job interviews, malicious developer software, compromised employee devices, and an internal AI tool used to move deeper into its systems. If you work in tech, downloading a coding assignment or trying a new developer tool probably sounds pretty normal. That’s exactly makes these tactics so concerning, especially when the device also has access to sensitive company systems. Another detail that stood out was how pausing withdrawals wasn’t enough to stop permissions the attackers had already established on-chain. Swipe through for the attack timeline, reported recovery progress, and practical takeaways for Binance users and cybersecurity teams. 👩🏻‍💻 What would you want your team to review after this? #Cybersecurity #Binance #SocialEngineering #cybernews #securityawareness 04 Nov 2026 When the dev and security leads dont agree 🥹 #cybersecurity #cybersecuritycareer #cybersecurityjobs #cybersecurityanalyst #soc 03 Nov 2026 These are the top 3 cities in the US for cybersecurity analysts and their median salaries + cost of living! 👩🏻‍💻💸 While I am and always will be a fan of remote work, at the end of the day, in-office jobs *typically* tend to pay more, and these are the hotspots. They also focus in different industries and sectors as a whole so you can figure out which is best for you. Hope this is helpful if you’re looking to move to a cyber/tech hub city that isn’t just NYC/SF! 💻 #cybersecurityjobs #techjobs #techcareers #cybersecuritycareer #cybersecurityanalyst 03 Nov 2026 @microsoftsecurity is solving one of the biggest problems in AI right now. 👩🏻‍💻👀 As AI agents become more common, security teams need visibility into which agents are running, what they can reach, where protections may fall short, and how risk changes over time. That’s why Microsoft is expanding Project Perception’s agentic defense to help organizations secure AI agents at scale while keeping you in control. Comment “SECURE” and I’ll send you the link to learn more about Project Perception and Agent 365! 👇 In Partnership with the Microsoft Security team #MicrosoftPartner 30 Oct 2026 Suddenly we DO have budget for cybersecurity 👀🤝 The wild thing is that prevention is always “too expensive” until you see the actual bill. IBM’s 2025 report put the global average cost of a breach at $4.44 million, and in the US it hit a record $10.22 million. On average, it still took 241 days to identify and contain a breach. Even in my previous cyber roles, the budget was always a big restraint for us. 😅 Thoughts on this topic?
