Meet Kevin of Steel 4.
Our reliable all rounder is back after a long sabbatical. The new Kevin of Steel 4 (KOS4) keeps the same spirit as the last Kevin of Steel. It’s a reliable, versatile, heat-treated chromoly steel gravel bike built for real adventures, long rides, rough roads, bikepacking, commuting, and the more bold definitions of gravel cycling.
Initially available as frameset only in Industrial Custard and Pink Cockatoo colourways, you can build up your own Kev however you like and that’s exactly what we’ve done..
For BESPOKED Osaka we have taken an Industrial Custard KOS4 frameset and built it up with some of our favourite parts. There’s nothing quite like the ride quality of a steel bike with carbon wheels, so our carbon Dirt Hoops are features. This also allows us to demonstrate the wider tyre clearance on the KOS4 than its predecessors; we’ve mounted Vittoria T70 55mm tyres.
For the groupset and stopping components we’ve used levers and brakes from one of our great Japanese friends at GROWTAC. GROWTAC EQUAL levers and brakes are as good as it gets when it comes to mechanical shifting and braking. To show the versatility of the build we’ve tied all this together with an Ingrid crankset and derailleur.

Meet the Handmade Big Kev of Steel 32: Curve’s Melbourne-made take on a wide tyre-clearance gravel bike built around 32” wheels.
Does anyone remember our 36” Titanosaur? We have long been fans of big wheels - the science makes sense to us! Now, with 32” bikes featuring prominently in global cycling media, and a different brand jumping aboard the new wheel format every week, we thought we’d show you our take on this new platform. We’ve been fat-tyre-big-wheel-drop-bar evangelists for a long time, it has been exciting to transfer our knowledge of handling geometry to this new wheel size.
Putting the 32” wheel-size to one side, this bike highlights some of the unique qualities of our business. While we produce larger batches of our bikes with partners in China and Taiwan, we also have talented frame builders in our team, who can craft bikes, not only from titanium lugs and carbon tubes as seen on AIR Kev, CarboKev and 00Kev, but also from steel using more traditional welding and brazing methods. This frame has been fillet brazed by our team's Technical Lead, Jimmy Rostlund, with some TIG welding done by our master mechanic Taylor, at our new Melbourne HQ.
For BESPOKED Dresden we have returned to the size-large frame with the custom long-offset Mone Bikes fork shown at SPOKEN Sydney earlier this year, but we have given it a glow up to showcase another beautiful paint option from Candy Factory Paintworks. In addition to the stunning aquamarine paint, we have swapped over to some prototype 45 mm deep gravel rims paired with Maxxis Aspen 32 x 2.4” tyres.

Meet the Handmade GMX+ Steel
The GMX+ Steel is coming back and this is our prototype for the next version. We want to test a few geometry changes before the next production GMX+ Steel goes into manufacture. So we built one ourselves. This bike lets us test those changes properly, and it shows some of the hands-on skills inside the Curve team.
Built by Jimmy Rostlund and Taylor Patrick at Curve the frame was hand-built using Columbus Zona steel, brass and silver brazing, plus 3D printed 316L stainless steel for the yoke and dropouts. Jimmy is our Technical Lead and an experienced frame builder, and Taylor can build too.
It also uses the same super-versatile sliding dropout system now found on the titanium GMX+ V2 and UpRock V2. Swap the inserts and the bike can run different drivetrain setups, including SRAM Transmission, a conventional derailleur, singlespeed hangerless or Rohloff.
There’s some BMX in the build too. Curve’s founders grew up riding BMX and building trails together, and Jimmy rides BMX as well. So this one gets Colony Brethren levers, and Cult x Vans grips as a nod to our past. Some of us used to ride BMX. Now we ride GMX! As always, Candy Factory Paintworks finished the frame in Desert Quartz, with hints of orange and green throughout the multi-layer design. Jimmy is always looking to bring clever solutions to life in a variety of ways. At Curve we call them Jimmy’s Clever Bits (JCBs).
For BESPOKED Osaka we’ve added the neat JCB Crown Race Mount to the build, to mount a light of your choice atop the fork. It’s a tidy and clutter free solution to keep the line of sight for the light and handlebars clear and cable free when running a bar bag.

The GMX+ has always been our version of the ultimate off-road adventure bike: inspired by the Overlanders of the 1890s, tested in real-life conditions, and built for huge distances across rough country with stability, carrying capacity and confidence at the core of the design. That part has not changed. The new model is still unmistakably a GMX+. It has just been improved in the right places.
So this is not a reinvention; the GMX+ V2 is just an even better execution of the original vision.

After a whirlwind trip, 00Kevin has been to Namibia, South Africa and Japan. In what 4 weeks? I’m still digesting what this bike is and how terrifying awesome it makes me feel when “racing” it. So far max speed is 80km/h off-road but that’s not as important, it truly excels& comes alive with the fast, loose technical stuff. Probably the head angle tweak and the larger volume tyres in 2.4 inch!… I love super fast technical riding both on and off road. I’ve often found the limit with my skill, the problem with this bike is it wants to open a door to another world. One I’m secretly excited to open … #racerideseek
