Debbie has always been the moment ⭐️ If you haven't seen her online yet, it's only a matter of time before you hear about @subwaytakes' newest star, Debbie Shields. We stopped by her bar, @confessionsbar_bk, last night as she prepared for this week's comedy show and sat down with her to discuss her newfound fame, Bed-Stuy's influence on her, and why she's truly more than meets the eye. #brooklyn #bedstuy #Conan #subwaytakes Producer 📸: @heyitsfran.mp4 24 Oct 2026

It takes an inordinate amount of wit and charm to best Conan O’Brien in a riff-off. The most an average comedian or host can hope for is not to embarrass themselves trying, which is largely how Kareem Rahma fared in a recent episode of his popular social-media series, @subwaytakes. But toward the end of the interview, Rahma and O’Brien were shown up by a stranger named Debbie Shields who just so happened to be commuting on their train. The 68-year old native New Yorker didn’t know what ‘SubwayTakes’ was, or that she was about to get pulled into a viral improvisational comedy bit. But thanks to a childhood spent performing in church and experience hosting comedy and karaoke nights at @confessionsbar_bk, the bar she owns in Brooklyn, she says her instincts kicked in immediately. This 'SubwayTakes' appearance isn’t even the first time she has been put on the spot by someone with a huge comedy platform. At the full interview at the link in bio, Shields tells us which comedian once pulled her onstage at Barclays Center, how she’s handling her virality, and whether she’d be interested in hosting a show of her own 👀 21 Oct 2026

@confessionsbar_bk Owner Debbie Shields took the stage to a packed house after her viral riff with comedy legend Conan O’Brian on @subwaytakes. 25 Oct 2026

we’ll take 2 Baby Daddy O’Briens please 😂 what a TREAT having debbie in studio today!!! 💗 24 Oct 2026

The one and only Mrs. Debbie Shields joined us on @connectwithjacob today. 🙌🏾🤎🙌🏾 The owner of @confessionsbar_bk became an overnight internet sensation after her impromptu and quick wit riffing with @teamcoco during an episode of @subwaytakes. As a fellow Brooklyn girl, this booking was special to me. I made it my duty to find her when @jacobsoboroff asked us to get her on the show. Me: She’s Brooklyn. I’m Brooklyn. Of course I’m gonna find her. And if you’re from Brooklyn and have walked through Bed-Stuy, you already know Debbie is THE VIBES, so it’s no surprise Conan and Kareem fell in love with her. Was truly an honor CONNECTING with Debbie.🩵🤎💙 Special love to @mybklynlife 🩷💚 . . . . #brooklyn #bedstuy #spreadloveitsthebrooklynway #blackownedbusiness #viral 24 Oct 2026
