Martine Rose has been named the new creative director of Balenciaga, and will become the first woman to take on the role at the maison in its 109-year history. The London-based designer is known for her menswear label, @martine_rose, and also for her work at Balenciaga between 2015 and 2018. Having helped shape the brand’s Demna era, Rose’s distinct vision brings an exciting new chapter for the French fashion house. @awarodhiang has been named as the British Fashion Council’s Model of the Year. Awar Odhiang was placed firmly in the fashion conversation after closing Matthieu Blazy’s debut Chanel show in October of 2025 with a contagiously joyful finale. The Canadian model has become a definitive fixture in the industry with covers for Dazed, Harper’s Bazaar France, Vogue France, alongside major campaigns for Chanel, Chloé, Saint Laurent and more. She has used her growing platform to advocate for representation and inclusion of Black models. “To be recognized as Model of the Year is an incredible honor,” said Odhiang. “I have always believed that you can be both kind and strong, both gentle and resilient. You never have to dim your light to belong, nor lose your softness to prove your strength.” The panel that selected Odhiang included photographer Campbell Addy, casting director Anita Bitton, and stylist and Wonderland editor in chief Carlos Nazario. They also named Japanese designer @yohjiyamamotoofficial as recipient of the Lifetime Achievement award. New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani knows the power of maintaining a signature look in politics. His suits and his trimmed beard, have remained key features of his style — so much so that it was not uncommon to see many men adopting the look as Halloween costumes this year. So it was something of a shock to see the mayor emerge over the weekend trying something new: a Mamdani mustache. In a video posted to social media on Monday evening, the mayor revealed his mustache was in honor of @movember, the annual event in support of men's health issues, such as prostate or testicular cancer. In addition to raising both funds and awareness, the Movember campaign, which began in Australia in 2003, also allows men like Mamdani to experiment with a mustache for a month before deciding whether to ditch it when December rolls around. Japanese artist Mariko Mori has spent more than three decades building a diverse body of work that spans everything from photography and computer-generated images to sculpture and large-scale interactive installations. Now, a major retrospective exhibition at Tokyo’s Mori Art Museum traces her career through 40 of her most defining works. The exhibition was co-curated by Mori Art Museum Director Mami Kataoka and Alexandra Munroe, Senior Curator at Large, Global Arts, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and Foundation, who spoke to CNN about the artist’s legacy.
