Hey, I’m Cathy! If you’re new here (or if you’ve been around for a while), let’s do a little reintroduction. 👋💙 I help families navigate safety—especially online—because the more we know, the better choices we can make. You might know me from my ‘Situations When It’s Best to Lie’ series, or maybe it’s just the blue dress and pearls. 😉 Beyond that, I’m an author, a bilingual mom, a CASA volunteer, and—fun fact—I do improv for fun! Now, tell me about you! What brought you to my page? Drop a comment or DM me—I’d love to hear! 💬✨ #SafetyFirst #ParentLife #FamilyFirst #introduction 2,522 likes · 84 comments · 20 Mar 2025 They need to investigate but I’m not taking any chances that this gets resold in one of those returns warehouses. #toddlermom #cpst #safetyfirst #scams #counterfeit #scamalert #safety #carseat #onlinesafety #parents 25.0K likes · 1,770 comments · 24 Jan 2025 F1 is actively growing its younger fanbase…while giving tobacco and nicotine brands access to the same audience. F1 has spent years growing a young, more family-friendly fan base through partnerships with Disney, Lego and Mattel, and at the same time, F1 has allowed nicotine-pouches to show up in races through team sponsorships with visible branding reaching that same young audience. Yes, nicotine pouches are not cigarettes. But these still contain nicotine, and they’re being marketed by big tobacco companies. So as a parent, I can’t help but ask, if F1 decided cigarettes and tobacco don’t belong in the sport, why are nicotine brands getting this kind of visibility? Why are they allowing them to market their products to young fans? Over 160 public health organizations called on F1 to end tobacco and nicotine sponsorships, arguing that it’s advertising those products to younger audiences. Take action today to help end F1 tobacco and nicotine sponsorships in my pinned comment. #tobaccofreekidspartner #ad #parenting 06 Nov 2026 So much privacy news! 1. The FTC is investigating surveillance pricing by asking major companies about whether they’re using our personal data to determine how much we pay. 2. Ford has made new privacy commitments around sharing data. It’s voluntary but still a great step. 3. & New York moved to restrict AI chatbots for kids from having features that create emotionally unhealthy relationships by pretending to be a friend, in a romantic relationship or life coach. Just a few steps forward! #privacy #news #AI #teensafety 284 likes · 8 comments · 04 Nov 2026 Went to the best trick-or-treating street in the country (according to Reese’s and Zillow) & ran into @senbooker and his incredible wife @alexislbooker It was one of those ‘don’t I know you from somewhere’ brain mishap moments but eventually I pieced it together 🙈 #halloween #newjersey #jerseymom #trickortreating 282 likes · 10 comments · 01 Nov 2026 This is a turning point, and you are a part of it. It’s the same with winter coats or anything too bulky that adds extra bulk under the harness. And that’s because in an accident that puffiness compresses, which means the body moves more than it should. And you can get more injuries & possibly come out of the car seat. #psa #carseatsafety #nhtsa #safetytips #parents 583 likes · 5 comments · 30 Oct 2026 Friends! A few weeks ago I auditioned for a street-interview tech show and I got the job but now I need a fit. The goal is to keep the blue but in an outfit that says ‘Hey! Come talk to me.’ Some of the outfits aren’t complete in the video but it’s enough to get a feel for it. Let me know what you think. Top 3? Details below. Over 228k Sienna’s have been recalled because the 2nd row seatbacks might unlock in a crash. If anyone is sitting in that seat when that happens or if you have a car seat installed there, you can imagine the injury risk so check your car. Go to CheckToProtect.org The repair is free at your local dealership. Doesn’t matter if the car is under your name. If it’s used. They don’t need a lot of information to repair it. Just name and a way to contact you when it’s ready. Go check and get it repaired if there’s a recall. #checktoprotect #toyotasienna #recall #safetytips #carsafety 93 likes · 1 comments · 27 Oct 2026 Here’s what my mistakes taught me:

1. If the marketing is aimed at a moment (like exhausted new moms)- PAUSE.

2. ‘Safety Tested’ or ‘Certified’ mean nothing without a name.
Tested by who? What standard? Saying it doesn’t make it true.

3. A familiar store isn’t a guarantee.
Big stores have quality assurance teams so you’re more protected there, but it’s not perfect. I’ve seen big box stores carry car seat protectors and baby walkers.

4. Tradition isn’t evidence.
‘Every baby has one’ is how a walker ended up on my baby registry even though Canada banned them in 2004.

5. Say something.
Every single save in this carousel came from someone speaking up. A DM, a friend, a comment. They didn’t know how I’d react, I could’ve gotten defensive but they did it anyways and I’m grateful they did. #babysafety #safeshopping #parentingtips #safetytips #flops 27 Oct 2026 Hackers might not lock you out of your email, sometimes they do this instead. It’s happened to me and now it’s one of the first things I check when I see unusual activity in my account. & of course using 2FA, not reusing passwords, etc. all of that is a massive deterrent. But I still always check my email forwarding settings, just to be safe. #cybersecurity #onlinesafety #hackers #scamalert #email 26 Oct 2026 My little hack comes through again! At this point I use so many different names and codes that when mail comes in without that, I get suspicious. Ig you want to know a bit more about my process, I’ve written about it on Substack (and in various posts over the years) but basically I either change my last name or add ‘codes’ to my shipping address so that when my information gets moved around I can track where I originally shared it. I’ve been doing this for 4-5 years and have caught a few companies sharing data this way. #privacy #databroker #cybersecurity #safetytips 24 Oct 2026
