Dear future fighters, Here’s a little story for you. I spent most of my fighting career looking for an MMA coach. I had great people around me. I had my Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu professor, @vnteam , who is like a brother to me and taught me so much of the martial artist I became. But MMA was the path I chose, and back then, where I came from, there wasn’t really an MMA coach to show me how to walk that path. So I went looking. I travelled the world. Trained in different gyms. Went to America. Fought in some of the biggest organisations in the sport. But I never really found that connection I was searching for. So I became my own MMA coach. I became my own biggest teammate. I got myself up at 5am. I ran alone. I travelled for training. I picked myself up after losses and somehow kept believing when nobody was there telling me to. And eventually, I made it to the UFC. But there’s something about fighting that I don’t think gets spoken about enough. It’s fucking lonely. The losses are lonely. The injuries are lonely. Missing birthdays, nights out and moments with people you love is lonely. And sometimes even chasing the dream itself is lonely. I know that feeling because I lived it. And as I’ve got older, I’ve realised something… Maybe I never found the MMA coach I spent my career searching for because I was supposed to become him. Maybe all that adversity was preparing me for this next chapter. Because now I have the opportunity to take over 20 years of mistakes, victories, losses, sacrifice and experience and create the environment I wish I’d had. I can’t promise the next generation UFC contracts or world titles. But I can promise them this: You won’t have to walk the road alone. Give me everything you’ve got, and I’ll give you everything I’ve learned. Maybe I was never meant to become a UFC champion. Maybe I was meant to create one. To the next generation…I am putting together unique MMA team of fighters . Giving them an opportunity of a lifetime. Who ready for the selection 🫡.
