Another great writer who makes Brooklyn their home! We were thrilled to present Amitav Ghosh with the 2026 BoBi Award (Best of Brooklyn) last week at our Gala Mingle author celebration. Having made Fort Greene his home for 30 years and continuing to inspire readers across the globe, Amitav Ghosh best exemplifies the spirit of Brooklyn. Congratulations, @amitav_ghosh1! 305 likes · 6 comments · 02 Oct 2026 The Brooklyn Book Festival is deeply thankful for the extraordinary support we received during the Nor’easter. This year’s festival could not have taken place without Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso and MOME Commissioner Rafael Espinal providing much needed support, and the Brooklyn Law School, Brooklyn Heights Library, The Center for Brooklyn History, and St. Ann & the Holy Trinity Church who gave us, quite literally, shelter from the storm. They saved the festival from cancellation, and we will always be thankful for their generosity. 576 likes · 18 comments · 30 Sep 2026 ✨The 2026 Brooklyn Book Festival poster has landed! ✨ Author and illustrator Jaque Jours (@jaquejours) created this remarkable poster featuring readers, dogs, nuns, and studious pigeons on the iconic steps of Borough Hall! 🏛️📖 Some of your favorite authors are also hidden throughout this poster. Can you find them? 👀 Head over to the link in our bio to find out which of your favorite authors will be attending #BKBF2026! ⭐️📚 4,536 likes · 86 comments · 15 Jul 2026 From horror to history, check out these delightful live sketches by R. We’ll see you next year ❤️ 60 likes · 2 comments · 15 Oct 2026 We were heartbroken to cancel the Brooklyn Book Festival Children’s Day Book Market and Festival Day Marketplace this year due to the Nor’easter. If you’re able, we encourage all you book lovers to visit BrooklynBookFestival.org/Vendor to find the publishers and authors who would have been participating in #BKBF2026 and show them the same love and support that you would have during the festival days! Fill your tote bags ❤️📖 324 likes · 4 comments · 12 Oct 2026 Thank you to over 250 Grimm fans came to our live recording of Grimm, Grimmer, Grimmest, despite the nor’easter 😱! #grimmfairytales #bookfestival #childrensbookauthor #kidspodcast #livestorytelling 87 likes · 6 comments · 07 Oct 2026 Gray skies, bright spirits! ☔️📚 Thank you to everyone who braved the storm to join us for the 21st Brooklyn Book Festival flagship day. We loved seeing so many talented authors, artists, illustrators, and moderators take the stage at the Brooklyn Law School, Brooklyn Borough Hall, Brooklyn Heights Library, Center for Brooklyn History, and St. Ann & the Holy Trinity Church. Every conversation was captivating, and we were thrilled to see so many books signed! Thank you again to @bkbpreynoso and @nycmomecommish for your much needed support. Looking forward to doing it again next year WITHOUT a nor’easter and WITH our much missed Literary Marketplace. In the meantime, you can find recordings from our Virtual Festival Day on our website and YouTube. Stay tuned for more recorded programming coming your way soon. The night also put a spotlight on @bklynlibrary’s Book Prize winners: @emilyhuntress for fiction and @sarahazizawrites for nonfiction. Thank you to the Brooklyn Book Festival and everyone who joined us! 📸 @lyfeofty 43 likes · 0 comments · 29 Sep 2026 *UPDATED SCHEDULE* Celebrate books & authors at our flagship event INDOORS this Sunday, September 26th starting at 10 AM.  Due to the predicted high winds and rain from the Nor’easter, all outdoor author programs will now take place at Brooklyn Borough Hall (209 Joralemon Street), Brooklyn Law School (250 Joralemon St) and Brooklyn Heights Library (286 Cadman Plaza West). Unfortunately, the Festival Day Literary Marketplace is cancelled. Please visit our list of marketplace vendors at BrooklynBookFestival.org/vendor and support them as you would have at the festival.
