The first project photographed for this book started over 5 years ago….AKA, this book baby has been a loooooong time coming. My team and I spent YEARS designing, sourcing, installing, and photographing these homes. I didn’t think I could love my team or my job any more, but making this book has proven me wrong. I am so, so thankful for the time spent on this project, the memories tied to these homes, beautiful photography, and the stellar team that worked tirelessly alongside me to bring it all to life.
Speaking of….I share this honor with a team of absolute superstars – team AID, my beloved shoot team @shadedeggesphotography @kmek27, and the MOST amazing clients. Also everyone at @clarksonpotter, my literary agent @nicoletourtelot, my editor @angelinladams, and my writer who helped guide me through this @christina_poletto!

You guys, I have been posting on Instagram for a long time!!! 15 years to be exact, which feels both impossible and mildly concerning. I started posting here in 2011 and somehow, over the years, this little corner of the internet turned into a pretty incredible community. Some of you have been here since the very early days (hi buddies 👋), and a whole lot of you are brand new! Since there seems to be more new faces around here every day, I figured it was probably time for a little reintroduction. Happy Sunday!! How about and impromptu walkthrough of the new digs!!! There’s finally some progress, and I can almost see the light at the end of the tunnel.
For anyone curious, we ripped this house down to the studs. New layout, a little added square footage, all new doors and windows, new roof, new siding, a completely new exterior...and the party barn is being reworked into something actually functional for a human AND some maybe some hooves!!
YES, I’ve done this many times for clients and once before for myself, but being the client on this particular house has been WILD. I’m documenting the whole shebang as honestly and as candidly as I can, and I feel so grateful that I get to share this experience with all of you. It has reminded me that none of this is for the faint of heart.
Fun Fact, it will always take more time and more money than you think. Buckle Up!

I say this about every month at this point, but this time I mean it….October was actual INSANITY. I have been here, there, and everywhere for way too many days STRAIGHT. I kicked off the month launching INTERIORS into the world with a mini press tour in NYC… Remember when I was on @goodmorningamerica??! That was FUN. I then flew straight from the city to check in on a project. Had a QUICK min at home to launch all the things…. @shoppeamberlewis Holiday Collection, new #AmberLewisxFourHands, annnnnd my latest @loloirugs. Signed some books and met some friends at Shoppe Calabasas, then it was off to @highpointmarket for the weekend to celebrate all the new. Ended the month with my favorite (Round Top, baby!) and now I am finally HOME!!! I am beyond thankful for the love you dudes gave all the things this month….and I had so much fun getting to celebrate it with you IRL. I would say LFG November….but my plans for next month are to keep it as lowkey as possible and smother G and the cats with all the snuggles I missed the last bit. OK BYE.

As the rooms in some of these projects got bigger over the last few years, so did my attention to the smallest details…. I share all my tips for playing with scale in INTERIORS: “Playing with scale is what makes a space feel both balanced and cozy. When the proportions are pushed just a bit, the room gains visual depth, unspoken character, and a sense of space that feels collected rather than composed.”
Annnnnd the #clientarewethereyet kitchen is the perfect example. The arched ceiling brings a sense of coziness, while the glazed tile reflects natural light to keep things feeling open. The massive island is grounded by the chunky pendants, and expansive picture windows offset the sturdy built-in cabinetry. It’s all about finding that balance between elements that make a statement and those that bring a room together. // 📷 @shadedeggesphotography
