When institutions fail us, we keep us safe.
The Trans Youth Resource Fair is an opportunity for trans youth and their loved ones to meet with over 20 trans youth-focused providers and community organizations. We’ll also have gender-affirming haircuts, makeup tutorials, and a free store!

Access to healthcare resources, nonviolent civil disobedience, coalition building, gathering to do memory work, what is direct action— were a few topics discussed at the ACT UP AT 40 - 2027 Calendar Launch.
@bgsqd at the @lgbtcenternyc host a gathering and discussion for community members to begin celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the AIDS Coalition To Unleash Power.
Panelists from ACT UP 101 and the next generation spoke of honoring ACT UP’s legacy in fighting back to end the AIDS crisis and to demand healthcare for all.
Members of the ACT UP’s Latino Caucus spoke of the necessity and urgency in recognizing Latino communities over the last 40 years and understanding the complexities and the beauty in coalition building.
Current ACT UP members spoke of how ending the AIDS crisis is deeply intertwined with gender affirming healthcare, liberation for Palestine, and abolishing ICE.

11.5.26 - @genderlib @actupny picket outside Mount Sinai Hospital in response to their capitulation to the fascist Trump regime in an ongoing effort to scapegoat and target trans healthcare — specifically access to gender affirming care for trans youth.
Under the Mount Sinai settlement, trans patients under 18 will no longer be able to access treatments including puberty blockers and hormone replacement therapy. The hospital also agreed to allocate $2 million to a “detransition clinic” similar to one the Department of Justice has demanded Texas Children’s Hospital establish.
The US Attorney’s Office in the Northern District of Texas sent a grand jury subpoena to Mount Sinai and another New York hospital seeking confidential information about patients under age 18 in May. (Source: motherjones.com)
Every hospital in NYC that has denied access to crucial and lifesaving care will be picketed and held to account every month until Pride 2027 by @genderlib @actupny and various groups in NYC. As we sober up from a “blue tsunami” it is not lost on trans rights activists and groups how prevalent and often trans people were thrown under the bus. That stops now.

Gives me the shivers knowing that tomorrow evening @actupny will explore the meaning of the trailblazing 'Aids Coalition to Unleash Power' (ACT UP) movement where it began @bgsqd inside the @lgbtcenternyc
The line-up is amazing.
Two panel conversations with activists, photographers and filmmakers from across the generations of the movement will ask - What can ACT UP teach us now?
The 'ACT UP at 40' calendars will be on sale in the US for the first time!

Danette Lebrón - activist and member of @actupny and the Latino Caucus of ACT UP. During the 1980s and 1990s, she volunteered to translate from English into Spanish instructions for taking medications available to combat the effects of HIV.

This morning an autonomous group of individuals installed a series of over 100 posters outside of Mt Sinai.
This installation is in response to the cowardly and illegal cancellation of gender affirming care for trans youth by Mt Sinai, NYU Langone, and NY Presbyterian.
While the outcome of the recent elections are a complete repudiation of this fascist regime, tech billionaires, and white nationalists are still funding an onslaught on trans rights.
Nearly $200 million dollars went into the economic engine funding the anti-trans ads and ballot proposals that passed in “progressive” states.
The work is not over just because the election is, especially in New York.
We say NO to the billionaire administrative class who funds private hospitals, making decisions about our healthcare in backrooms and with their checkbooks.
And YES to bodily autonomy for ALL

Our monthly pickets with @ACTUPNY are about showing community pushback, holding hospitals accountable by coming for their reputation, and showing trans youth and their families that we are with them. We’re also building pressure on @NYCPride to keep these hospitals out of the Parade until they resume care.
