New UGallery artist Jian Ma, also known as Jane M., creates minimalist oil paintings of imagined architectural spaces.
"I realized that I was not interested in painting architecture itself, but in using it as a visual language to express memory, emotion, and human experience," Jian shares.
By simplifying each composition to its essential elements, Jian uses empty rooms, quiet corners, and shifting light to evoke a sense of presence without depicting people directly. Her contemplative paintings invite the viewer to find their own meaning in these carefully observed spaces.
