How to patch drywall holes (California patch method)
Here’s what I used:
Scrap piece of drywall
Sharp razor blade
All purpose joint compound
4 in putty knife
10 in drywall knife
Sanding block
I’ve tried just about every way to patch small to medium sized holes and I think this is the easiest. Save this video to give it a try ✨

Huge shoutout to @henry.company #ad and their ULTRATouch denim insulation. I was dreading this project until I realized, I don’t have to use fiberglass 🙌 This insulation is made from recycled blue jeans, mold mildew resistant, and it cancels noise even better than standard insulations. No fiberglass, no itch, and it’s available in multiple R Values at @HomeDepot.

Shoutout to @ecovacs_global #ad for this game changing robot. I’ve tried several through the years and the DEEBOT X12S OmniCyclone is definitely my favorite. It’s specifically designed to deliver uninterrupted cleaning to large homes with minimal intervention/upkeep. Definitely a game changer.

Here’s the supply list for the floating broom👇
1 medium plate for the base
1 long chip can (I kept the lid and cut it in the middle to help hold my stick in place.
1 big stick (found ours in the woods)
1 table hula skirt for the broom “bristles” (cut it to length after gluing it on)
Duct tape (used to secure the stick in the can and keep it from moving)
Hot glue (used to attach the can to the plate, the lid to the can, and the hula skirt.
3 pack of Velcro adhesives to attach the plate to the robot.

Not pictured: The 2+ hours of carving I did beforehand 😅 Honestly though, it wasnt bad. Surprisingly nostalgic.
Here’s what I used:
4-13 in pumpkins from Michael’s - $60
4-9 in pumpkins from Michael’s - $40
2-6 in pumpkins from Michael’s - $10
2 -16 in Planters from Walmart (I got them at them at the end of the season they were marked down to $11 each) - $22
Concrete $7 per bag - $14
10 ft pvc pipe (I had them cut in half at the store- $10
Spray paint (already had but we’ll say)- $5
Also used electric tape at the bottom of the first pumpkin to keep them from sinking into the pot but I already had it so I didn’t include it in the cost.
In total each tower cost about $80 bucks, and I can reuse them year after year. Might still add some tea lights but idk if they need them? 🤔 let me know what you think.

The best thing I added to our Halloween decor this year #ad The @linkindofficial smart light sticks🔥 I put one in our porch light and two on standard E26 lamp bases (from Amazon) and they lit the entire porch. They’re more realistic than flame candles and I don’t have to worry about batteries dying or swapping them in and out 👏

Everything you need to know about paint sheens ✨
Rule #1… There are no rules, its all a matter of personal preference really🤷♀️ Do what you love and what works best for you and your specific circumstances.
With that being said, its good to know the strengths and weaknesses of each sheen when choosing a paint, so here’s some info that might be helpful ⬇️
Flat and matte- Generally used on ceilings, great at hiding imperfections but difficult to clean.
Eg shell (low luster) - This one is my personal fav because it gives that matte look while still being easy to clean, typically used in living rooms, bedrooms and in my house… every room 😅🤫
Satin (25-35% sheen) - Generally used in kitchens/ bathrooms because it can be easily wiped down. It’s also become a popular choice for trim/molding and even doors.
Semi-gloss - Higher shine, typically used for trim/molding, doors, cabinets and more. Known for its durability.
High gloss- Very high shine, reflects a lot of light, should be sprayed for the best results. While it’s super durable and easy to clean, it is more likely to show the imperfections in your walls and paint job. Not the best choice for rough uneven surfaces.
Paint sheens will differ from brand to brand so it’s important to always grab a sample to test in your space beforehand.

Home maintenance tasks that are easy to miss👇
Drop the word “garage” in the comments and I’ll send you the lubricant we use on our garage door, it’s the best.
1. Lubricating the garage door hinges, spring and rollers, your ears will thank you later.
2. Dishwasher clean out - I’m embarrassed to admit, I didn’t even know my dishwasher had a filter until a few years ago 🫣 I try to clean it out once a month now that I know.
3. The fridge coils - If your fridge isn’t staying cold or isn’t running as well as it used to, it might be the coils! I use an old toothbrush to clean mine but they do make a coil cleaning brush as well.
