Spelman College students gained an inside look at the film and television industry during a conversation with writer, producer, director, and A Different World showrunner Felicia Pride.
Students in Professor Anjanette Levert’s Black Cinema: Contemporary Documentary Filmmakers class joined Pride at The Retreat by TGS in Atlanta, where she shared insights from her creative journey, her work on Queen Sugar, Bel-Air, Grey’s Anatomy, and Really Love, and the revival of A Different World.
Pride also discussed the importance of creating opportunities for Atlanta University Center students to contribute both in front of and behind the camera.
The experience offered Spelman students a unique opportunity to engage directly with an industry leader, explore the realities of storytelling in Hollywood, and see the connections between classroom learning and professional practice.
