Look at what I did! I seriously can't believe it. I honestly wasn't certain I would make it across that stage this week. I thew my back out again on Wednesday and it has been rough the rest of the week. I'm so happy to have been able to accomplish this 2 year dream. I cannot believe I actually won the NYCC Crown Championship Regional Qualifier! Thank you so much to @saynotoscrunchies, @dressesandcapes, and @akellyz! I literally have no words that express how grateful I am. And thank you @artemistyck for being absolutely amazing tonight, as always. Because I can't seem to stop trying new things for my Sakizo build, I decided to make her jewelry out of real metal! I used Prometheus Sunny Bronze metal clay. I won't go into the details, but essentially when fired it a kiln, it becomes solid bronze. This stuff is like magic! I did have to run it through a jewelry tumbler to get that final bright shine, but how cool is this stuff? #cosplay #jewelrymaking #metalclay #handmade #wip 02 Oct 2026

I can't believe I'm finally done with this. It took 19 months for just what you see here. I finished my gauntlet, jewelry, and staff after these photos were taken. So much of my time, effort, money, and sanity went into this build. Is it perfect? No, and I struggle to let that go. But it's the best that I can do with my skillset right now and I am so incredibly happy and proud. This dress only exists in a watercolor painting, and I brought it to life (with some creative liberties such as the quilting). There are some little things I want to adjust at some point, but that is absolutely not something I want to do in the near future, lol. It's a little bittersweet to be done with something I dedicated 2 years of my life to making. But it's time to move on. And it won't be a ballgown. I need a break from ballgowns for a moment. 😅 And a big shout out goes to @tight_photography for the amazing photos she captured of this dress! And for her convincing me to temporarily go outside for a couple of photos. We were only out there for a few minutes, but look at the background! I made armor! Out of leather! I don't do a lot of armor, but there is one image of Guilietta by Sakizo that had her in a gauntlet. I've never made one of these before, but I've always wanted to work with leather armor, so it seemed like a good time to try! I patterned with duct tape and edited in Illustrator. I used my @cricut to cut everything and engrave the design before tooling by hand (I'm terrible with symmetry, lol). I punched a bunch of holes and used metallic Tiger thread for the decorative stitching. Leather tools are from @tandyleather Thank you to @jennifermaydesigns who taught me the basics of leather work and tooling at DragonCon a couple of years ago. I finally finished my first leather piece! I do think I want to remake it and do a different paint job, but we will see how much time I have. I had such an amazing time at @animateorlando this past weekend! It was such a busy time, but so much fun! I had a blast hanging out with my cosplay gue a ts and jusges @cafededuy and @eve_talisman_cosplay I'm looking forward to next year! I also think it's time for a Ravenna restyle. Her wig has gotten so frizzy from the tiara chains. And Aurora definitely looked like she went through a dryer. 😅 I need to spend some time sprucing them up before I wear them next. And did you notice, I had the chance to wear my Sakizo dress with wig! This was the first time I have actually seen it all together with the new bodice I recently made and the wig. Ignore the fact my husband didn't pull down the white ruffle under the red skirt. Neither of us remembered it existed, lol. But I'm so happy with it! Just a couple little tweaks to secure the skirt in place and finish off some edges I haven't serged yet. I did wear the sleeves for my photoshoot, but only remembered to record after I took them off, lol. Time to prep for DragonCon! #cosplay #convention #galaxycon #handmade #costume 18 Aug 2026

It only took about two months, maybe three, but my Giulietta wig is finally done! There's so many things that had to come together to pull this off and I'm so happy with how it looks. I am going to attempt to make silk daffodils for my Sakizo cosplay. I found these kits from @lanseichina that had everything I needed to get started.
