We’re ending this now. This debate of giving and receiving. This back and forth over whether one “tis better” than the other. In December, we had our esteemed Timekeeper, Josh Zagoren, fill in for a combatant who fell ill at the last minute. As such, we knew he couldn’t win because it would be unfair to his opponent, Tania Richard. These are the kinds of freedoms that lead to brilliance. This week, for New Piece Tuesday and beyond, we will be showing both sides in reels. The full pieces are available on YouTube (Josh’s today, Tania’s tomorrow). It just so happened that Josh and Tania took on the moral poignancy of The Giving Tree, old proverbs, and what gifts mean and to whom. 20 years ago I was sent to the basement of @cornproductions in Chicago to create a character for a show that debuted Feb 8th 2006. It has been an indescribable score getting to comment on the times, chronicle the year weekly and travel the country with this bird of mine.
