@sirpatstew’s death feels like the end of an era. Star Trek TNG was a huge childhood staple. I was very lucky to see #PatrickStewart at a few cons. The particular con where the photo was taken, his team had a strict no contact rule. I just made this silly holy shit it’s Patrick Stewart kind of noise and he laughed during the photo. I also met Jackie, his former assistant. She was helping sell years worth of Star Trek merchandise that was taking up room and his storage unit. She was running a booth called “Patrick Stewart’s garage sale.” 😂 One day he came to visit her on the vendors floor. A large crowd of fan started to build up nearby, taking photos of him. He just looked at them like they were crazy and said. “What are you all staring at?” like it was no big deal. He was at a Star Trek convention. Some of the other odd jobs I had over a couple different cons were either watching over his luggage before his flight. Or another time before he was married, I was left in charge of making sure his girlfriend got into the Con and gave her the tour. He was very strict about his time doing conventions. He knew exactly how long he he took for autographs and how long he wanted to sign. He didn’t like conventions over selling. ECCC made that mistake one year and he walked out of his autograph session. He told a late mutual friend, Richard Arnald, that he doesn’t need the money from cons but he knew conventions did better when he appeared and it was for the fans. And I remember when I got autographs that even though he was strict with his time. He still paused and told me a couple of quick stories about any particular photo I was getting signed. And I respected how he called out the absurdity of constantly using recording devices. At a TNG cast reunion event that was supposed to be an intimate private evening with an audience of a limited size. There was going to be no broadcast recording and no video recordings. And he explained how going to these events is like a very intimate private gathering to share personal stories. And he called out everyone he saw recording and told them to turn off their phones before starting. RIP Patrick, we were blessed with your work. 37 likes · 1 comments · 29 Oct 2026 Another #StarTrek legend has passed away. When I took this photo with #WalterKoenig he had problems walking and standing long but still stopped me after the photo to laugh and chat about my shirt. 😂 He’s been through a lot in his life. He outlived both his wife and his son. I’ll never forget the very tragic story about his son Andrew. Andrew committed suicide in Vancouver during the Winter Olympics back in 2010. Before they knew about his death, he was a missing person during the crazy times of the Olympics. The police were too busy maintaining order during the Olympics and didn’t have a lot of resources to search for Andrew. I remember the story when Walter had to travel up to Vancouver with his wife and assemble his own team of volunteers to do a search. And the local news sadly had to post his statement as he cried on camera, telling everyone his son had died. A year after in Las Vegas at the annual Star Trek convention, I had occasionally a gig working for the late Richard Arnald, Gene Roddenberry’s former assistant. And he was friends with many of the actors. Richard had a side gig, running a table in the vendors room selling rare Star Trek cards. Walter came to visit the table and caught up with Richard. He asked him how has he been doing lately? Is it literally day by day dealing with Andrew’s passing. Walter replied it’s more like hour by hour. 😢 Richard then showed Walter something he found. It was a trading card of Andrew when he appeared on DS9, and it was signed by Andrew. Walter was practically speechless holding the card looking at it. And he asked Richard how much was it because he wanted to buy it. Richard explained no no no I found that card because I was going to give it to you. Honestly, I’ll never forget that look on Walter‘s face as he just stared at that card for a long time. RIP Walter 9 likes · 0 comments · 26 Oct 2026 I met @bauzilla last year. As a fan I know him as the modern voice of the iconic legacy Looney Tunes characters and many other voices. The con I met him him at, the staff has problems setting up his booth and couldn’t figure out how to hook up his banner sign. He sat waiting and he pulled out from his bag he travelled with his own tag he kept from a table read from an old production 😂 He was so approachable about his work and all the interviews I heard of his, he gave credit to all the original actors and never considered himself a “legend”. We chatted about being fellow Canadians, and I joked about my hobby of trying to meet voice actors especially legends before they passed. He said he knew exactly how I felt. When he took over as Gizmoduck in Ducktales Remastered, at the end of production they commemorated the fact that they reunited all of the surviving cast. A script was being circulated for everyone who worked on the production to sign. He told me how he looked at the script and saw all these legendary actors that were still alive at the time and he didn’t want his signature to ruin the script because he didn’t really feel he belonged there. He told the producers are you sure you want me to sign this? Can I just sign a post it note and you guys decide if you want to include it? He was just insanely humble. As tragic as his sudden passing was yesterday. I’m glad he lived long enough to see Coyote VS Acme get released. A movie he’s been vocal for years WB tried to shelve. He voiced 10 characters in the movie!!! RIP #EricBauza, thank you for the stories. You may not have considered yourself and your work legendary, but you made your mark on many kids and adults’ lives. #BeLikeBauza 29 likes · 1 comments · 26 Oct 2026 The #Watchmen movie came out in 2009. Folks still talk about how great @jackieearle was playing #Rorshach. He was just a delight to talk to. The mask was surprisingly easy to film with and sound quality came out well not requiring a lot of ADR to redo his lines. Funny thing about the photo at @wahorrorcon. I actually lined up twice, if you slide to the right the first photo, his assistant accidentally left her thumb in the shot so when we retook the photo, he made fun of her by sticking his own thumb into the camera, and I joined in on the joke 😂 thanks #JackieEarleHaley 10 likes · 0 comments · 25 Oct 2026 Met the lovely @virginiamadsen @wahorrorcon. Sure horror fans know her from Candyman, she was nominated for an Oscar in Sideways, she appeared on a tragic episode of Star Trek Voyager. But I was really happy to meet her because she was the voice of Roulette from #JusticeLeagueUnlimited. I was telling her about the Justice League Revisited podcast and how @susaneisenberg1 mentioned she was a fan of her work and Virgina’s casting was perfect. Virginia said she had a lot of fun working in this. Plus apparently I was her very first JLU related signing! Thank you for the time! “My name is Roulette and I make the rules”……but she said after signing “my mame is Virginia and I make the autograph” 😂 18 likes · 1 comments · 25 Oct 2026 Happy birthday @officiallyniallmatter. Who would’ve thought when we met in 2012, years later I’d be semi-convincing you to join social media to thwart fake scam account imposters and debunk fake death reports. The internet is not a real place. But glad you’re real 😂 19 likes · 2 comments · 20 Oct 2026 Late post. But happy 30th anniversary to #SabrinaTheTeenageWitch Aired Sept 27, 1996 Photos back from 90s con 2023 22 likes · 0 comments · 28 Sep 2026 I’ve been awake since 2am. I fly out from Vancouver to Burbank to just be in town about 4-5 hours for @robotoyfest. I got to meet the absolute legendary @fraley.patrick. My childhood is filled with his voices in my head. Bravestar, Denver The Last Dinosaur, Wildcat from Talespin (Disney Afternoon royalty!), tons of supporting characters on The Tick, but the biggest impact for me was Krang and Casey Jones on #TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles. It’s almost not real meeting guys like this in person. You feeling like you’re a little kid again watching cartoons. I mentioned I used a lot of cartoons to hide from the stress of childhood. He shared his similarities of his broken family when he was a kid too and he didn’t have nearly the amount of shows like what I watched. But we had a wholesome heart to heart about our lives. And this made the trip all worth it. Pat signing my Casey Jones Funko Pat signing me Krang funko! Honestly my favourite character 🥹 #JaniceKawaye Gi from #CaptainPlanet. I told her this was the last era of cartoons that seemed to teach kids lessons on life and I thanked her for her work. Because shows like this kept me from turning into a complete asshole. And she said she’s still heard of kids who use the term Planeteers! And no she never met Ted Turner. He just got the credit for creating the show.😂 Doesn’t get more wholesome than this Work in progress. 4 done. Quick hello with #NeilRoss as I headed out to wait for my flight. Springer from Transformers, Shipwreck from GI Joe, Green Goblin aka Norman Osborn from the Spider-Man TAS, Keith and Pidge from Volton. Just a legend. I also told him about the joy and comfort cartoons brought me when I was in rough patches as a kid. And how the wholesome cartoons kept me from being turning into asshole. Ironically said it was more likely that his character of Shipwreck was going to turn me into an asshole.😂 well it didn’t happen Mr. Ross. Thank you for your craft and the joy of rock my childhood. 33 likes · 2 comments · 13 Sep 2026 One more Vegas Trek pic dump. #BruceGreenwood and I have a mutual acquaintance. I used to work with one of his brother’s childhood friends. He told me if I ever see Bruce at a convention say hi for him. I did So and Bruce insisted we take a selfie together and he even gave me a free autograph on my poster. Thanks Bruce! I spent a couple days chatting with @ethangpeck and @christinachongx’s con reps when they needed info in photo ops. Christina’s rep broke her shoe and I helped duct tape it together 😂 and honestly on the last day I was even telling them I was totally willing to pay for a selfie. But their reps cut me in line and didn’t charge me. Apparently I was very helpful and nice to them. 🤷🏻‍♂️😂 and honestly, Ethan and Christina were just as great. Her dog @runa_ewok was so friendly to everyone in the room. Michael Westmore legendary makeup design designer in Star Trek. Shannon Fill aka Sito Jaxa on TNG and Lower Decks. It was her first Star Trek convention and I told her when I was a little kid her death episode is one of a few things I ever made me cry on watching TV. She said thank you but honestly, it’s all in the writing. She was telling me how surprised she was invited to come back on Lower Decks. She’s a fan as well. She took a photo with George Takei. I dropped it off at her booth and she just screamed in excitement over it. And shout out to all the amazing cosplayers 37 likes · 2 comments · 08 Sep 2026 Happy 60th Anniversary #StarTrek. Last month’s pics from Vegas Trek. @jack_quaid had long lines between love for his work on The Boys or Lower Decks. @albinokid1026 had a quick chat with me about his time working in Vancouver James Cromwell! His first Star Trek con! Legend! @noelwells Tendi on Lower Decks. Her character was just pure joy. She really brought that character to life @fredtatasciore amazing voice actor. His work as Shaxs on Lower Decks, superb @gillianvigmanreal haha her pose. I told her Dr T’Ana was my fave character on Lower Decks because she’s so unhinged 😂 Natalia Nogulich, Admiral Nechayev from TNG and DS9. She was saying how nice my Wesley Crusher jacket was and shared some stories what the real costumes were like back in the day. Lovely lady to chat with. The cast of Starfleet Academy! A short lived show but fans were there to show love. @sandrorosta (fellow Canadian!), Romeo Carere, @bellashepard, @georgeghawkins. Thanks for the time. The cast of Starfleet Academy! He’s great on Strange New Worlds. @martinquinn_94 is historically the first Scottish actor to play Scotty! He’s amazing on Strange New Worlds. Scott MacDonald recurring actor of many different faces through many years of Trek shows. We chatted about our mutual friend Richard Arnald, who passed away a few years ago. He told me about how much he missed Richard and how he was responsible for helping him get his first gig on Star Trek. Because he had no idea you could book a role on Star Trek and have a recurring status on some degree so he really owes Richard for getting him into the Star Trek family. @jghertzler w 23 likes · 0 comments · 08 Sep 2026 Yesterday I woke up to some sad news hearing about the death of the legendary #PeterCullen. I absolutely idolized his voice work as a kid watching Transformers and was always transfixed over anything #OptimisPrime related. When I met him in 2021 at Salt Lake City Comic Con, his lines were insane. But it was pretty amazing to see the effect his life’s work had on so many fans of all ages. You saw tiny kids lining up, grown men and women. Many grown ups all saying they felt his cartoons practically resized them during their awful childhoods. His work stretched far in my childhood for sure. The original Monterey Jack in Rescue Rangers, Eeyore in Winnie The Pooh, the spooky Predator. Aside from my selfish autographs at the con, and trust me I spent quite a bit on myself. I picked up some surprise gifts at the time for some of my big Transformers friends. The 4 prints for @puremixed whom I hadn’t seen since college but he always stood out being a big fan. I always wanted to manifest he’d get to meet Peter one day. But thought just in case he doesn’t at least he’ll have a piece of history. And I picked up a funko for @katkaevich, whom is the only person I know who was once so passionate about writing Transformers fan fiction. Everyone deserves one grand gesture in their lives. Hearing about how Peter had cancer for some time made this convention memory more memorable. He didn’t have to do these cons. Convention life is purely optional for working actors. But he really put in the time for folks in his line. I recalled that someone brought a truck form Optimus for him to sign. But after Peter was playing with it and trying to figure out how to transform him into Optimus mode. The look and struggle on his face was priceless😂 Well RIP Mr. Cullen. You were a big part of generations of fans lives from childhood to adulthood. ““Be strong enough to be gentle” Peter would tell folks was the advice his brother gave him when he auditioned for Optimus. Words to live by. 54 likes · 3 comments · 28 Aug 2026 RIP #PeterCullen. In recent years I haven’t bothered going to many panels but I’m glad I put in the time in 2021 to see this panel at Salt Lake City Fanx. Even with all the crazy Covid travel restrictions it was amazing to see Peter do this reading with Frank Welker. 170 likes · 4 comments · 27 Aug 2026
