This was the cover of @sportingnews 20 years ago today. One of the weirdest photo shoots we ever did during my time there….. we shot this in Las Vegas, as Anna Benson was trying to become a professional poker star at that time. @loehman assisted on the shoot, Bill Wilson did a really clean cover design, and Jack Kruyne worked his Wacom tablet to the bone to make all the baseballs the same tone of white. (Rawlings generously sent us about 3000 baseballs, but unfortunately, half of them were a very warm white color and half of them were a very stark cold white. All of them were individually boxed and wrapped, and had to be unwrapped for the shoot. Ugh!) #sportsphotographers #sportsmagazine #houstonphotographers #robertsealephotography #baseball 11 Aug 2026 My latest spread in #lurzersarchive @butterbeanboxer , and incredible model Curtis Brown with “cracked earth” makeup by @makeuphairbywendy . #houstonphotographers #advertisingphotographer #houstoncorporatephotographer #robertsealephotography 09 Jul 2026 Things I thought I would never see again: Rush in concert. The show over the weekend in Fort Worth did not disappoint. @anika.nilles is an absolute monster on the Drums. The sound and lighting were powerful as usual. Thanks @snownorth Glad I got to witness this again. #rush #dickiesarena #geddylee #alexlifeson 29 Jun 2026 Experience 140 years of history through the eyes of the photographers who defined The Sporting News, with 140 iconic images from our archive 📸 Find the full collection at the link in our bio. 26 Jun 2026 A few months ago, I had the honor of photographing 99-year-old Opal Lee, known as “The Grandmother of Juneteenth” for Texas Co-Op Power magazine. Lee campaigned for years to make Juneteenth a national holiday and was eventually successful. When she was 12 years old, her family was driven from the neighborhood and their home was burned to the ground by an angry mob in the predominantly white neighborhood where her father had just purchased their house. The family lost the house and the property in this hate crime. Years later, Lee decided to research the current owners, in hopes of repurchasing the property. She found that the property was owned by Habitat for Humanity, and after hearing her story, they decided to not only gift her the property her family once owned, but to build her a furnished home on the same corner her family had been driven from some 85 years earlier. It was a real honor to meet her and share her story. #juneteenth #opallee #fortworth #texascooppowermagazine #robertsealephotography 19 Jun 2026 I got a brief meet and greet with one of the best drummers of all time, Stewart Copeland from The Police. Sting famously gave him a hard time about rushing the tempos and playing the songs way too fast….. something many of us drummers struggle with. I asked him to sign the drumhead and say something like “slow down” , “whoa”, or “too fast” or something like that…. Instead he wrote, “FASTER!!!” 😂. His stories were very entertaining and it was a great talk. It’s hard to believe I’ve now seen Andy Summers and Stewart, 2/3 of The Police at the tiny Heights Theater in my neighborhood! 15 Jun 2026 Latest ad in Lürzer’s Archive magazine. Believe it or not, this cowboy was a high tech executive in Seguin, Texas. The historic Texas theater made a great twilight setting for this small town Texas portrait. #seguin #texasphotographer #cdw #houstonphotographers #lurzersarchive 02 Apr 2026 I’m pretty stoked to announce that I’m featured in a 20-page article in the new Graphis Journal Magazine Vol. 386.  Although I’ve had photos in their Photography Annual a few times, I’ve never before been the subject of a feature.  Graphis is an amazing magazine, featuring some pretty respected names in design, advertising, and photography, and it’s an honor to be in such good company.    It was pretty shocking to see that they solicited quotes from famous photographers (and clients) I really look up to with admiration and respect: fantastic photographers like Sandro Miller, Mark Seliger, R.J. Muna, Doug Menuez, Keith Ladzinski, and Arthur Meyerson, and they said really nice things.  For those of you that are not in our creative industry, this is kind of like Mick Jagger telling you you’re a great singer, or Chuck Yeager saying you’re a good pilot!  I’m seriously blown away that these people even know that I exist.  Wow.  (In the back of my head, I’ve got some definite Wayne and Garth “I’m not worthy!” vibes, but I’m trying to get over that.) This is a beautifully designed magazine, (thanks Heera Kim!), and if you would like a physical copy, there’s a 50% off discount code for friends through the Graphis website: Promo Code: SPECIAL386 I’ve also archived it on my website (Instagram won’t let me put a direct link in a post, so please see my website link in the bio, and navigate to the article or if you want to read my (rather lengthy) Q&A Major thanks to the folks at Graphis for thinking I’m worthy to be included in their fine publication. #graphis #houstonphotographers #industrialphotographer #sportsportrait #graphicdesign 09 Mar 2026 Out and about in Houston today. #houstonphotographers #houston #downtownhouston #houstonarchitecture #1910courthouse 28 Jan 2026 More gold! Our work from the SLB Louisiana Technical Center placed “Gold” in the 2025 Graphis Photography awards. My SLB art directors on this were Katherine Le (now with SLB’s One Subsea) and John Luu (now working with XOM). Thanks for the opportunity to do one of my favorite things: turn a busy, raw industrial space into well-designed graphic photography. #Graphis #Graphisphotographyawards #slb #Schlumberger #oilandgasphotography #corporatephotography #industrialphotographer #houstonphotographers 25 Sep 2025 I’ve been to a lot of concerts, and I’ve seen a lot of cool stuff, but I can’t think of a show with more innovative visuals than the Nine Inch Nails “Peel it Back” tour last night at the Toyota Center. Trent really outdid himself: multiple layers of gauze projection screens, reverse silhouettes, handheld, lighting, a sub-stage in the middle of the audience, and live handheld video on stage with the band… the iPhone really struggles to do it justice. It was definitely not the place for anyone with epileptic light sensitivity, or anyone wearing a lilac pastel Lily Pulitzer outfit. Glad to see drum monster Josh Freese back on the kit. Thanks for cropping my video IG. #nin #concertlighting #trentreznor #nineinchnails #joshfreeserules 13 Sep 2025 Maj. John H. “Lucky” Luckadoo passed away this weekend at the age of 103.  Maj. Luckadoo was the last remaining B-17 pilot of the Eighth Air Force 100th Bomb Group, known as the  “Bloody Hundredth.”  His story was featured in a book, Damn Lucky: One Man’s Courage During the Bloodiest Military Campaign in Aviation History, by Kevin Maurer, and his group was the subject of the Apple TV series “Masters of the Air.” I was lucky enough to meet him and take a quick portrait of him during 2024 at the Dallas HQ of the Commemorative Air Force.  Although things didn’t quite go as planned (the B-17, which belonged to the Arizona wing of the CAF was hangar-bound with maintenance issues that day), we still made the best of it, and cleared out a small area to create a nice portrait of Lucky that day.  (The photo was featured in the 2025 Graphis Photography Annual).  He was a wonderful gentleman and signed books and visited with the crowd that afternoon. Wishing him blue skies and tailwinds until we meet again. #100thbombgroup #aviation #aviationportrait #b17 #commemorativeairforce #greatestgeneration 02 Sep 2025
