Siamo cresciuti qui. Sono passati degli anni dalla nostra prima partecipazione @theothersartfair. Tante cose sono cambiate, sede, collaboratori, artisti, opere, i sogni, le aspettative. Ma siamo qui. La prima volta non si scorda mai anche se fa un po’ male: mio zio Enrico era appena scomparso, ed io ero salito su a Torino, con uno stand interamente dedicato a Pax, la sera del suo funerale. Avevamo un dipinto piccolino, in blu indaco, con la silhouette di una ragazza e la scritta: far luce negli angoli bui. L’ultimo giorno in fiera una bambina, avrà avuto 10 anni, non faceva altro che tornare a vederla, a guardare quella figurina dipinta sul legno, e all’ultimo momento utile trascinò suo suo padre da noi, per farsela regalare. Ogni volta che vengo qui a Torino sento che sto salendo anche per riavvicinarmi a quella immagine, e più vicino le sono, più quel che diceva diventa vero. So che è ancora lì, sopra il letto di quella bambina, che adesso sarà di certo cresciuta. EN. We can easily say we grew up here @theothersartfair.
Moons have passed since our first, when I came with a whole stand by @paxpaloscia made my first friends and started this journey. That week was real cold, we had a piece on wood, small one, honest one that had a girl laid out in silhouette and the sign, scribbled on the top: far luce negli angoli bui. A young girl came by several times to look at it on our last day at the fair and at the very last minute brought her dad to buy it. Time and again, whenever I’m in town I check in, to make sure the painting is still hanging over the girl bed frame, in her room. Come find us at stand number 14 from now till Sunday. All are welcome, good vibes only.

Raw Messina is about the people that make it special everyday. Sometimes this little bit of magic happens even from afar. Thanks @alexandrawaespi for participating since our 240 grand street ( at Bowery ) days. Love xxx gab, pax and team. Pls gentle peeps, tune in onto Waespi poetics. Show at ours coming this spring.

Featured this week: @elenacucci world of empty interiors commands attention and time to be savored in full. Both paradigms force us to slow down and allow the space to fill up, sometimes with our own memories of things past, other times with pirate thoughts hijacking our attention for good, and again sometimes with fantasies of things that are yet to come. We will be bringing a series of these oil paintings on canvas @theothersartfair in less than a month and I personally can’t wait to set them up at the old parcheggio Lancia.

Featured this week: @erartworks has rocked our space last year with a soulful, intellectual and sensuous rendition of Roland Barthes’ Fragments of a Lover’s Discourse. We stared at the work, that featured mostly diptychs including torn and painted over pages of the book, wondering what is it about paint on paper that feels so light, thin, yet inescapable, inevitable. Something you must look at and reckon with. We adore these “disegni al pennello” and can’t wait to introduce you to Eleonora’s new works which we will premiere at la Nuvola during the art fair in Rome, later this fall.

Featured this week: “pirata”, oil on canvas, 70x100cm. @paxpaloscia research has constantly evolved throughout three decades. A virtuosa who masters several languages and techniques, Pax has never betrayed her main source of inspiration: the pure, stout and glimmering heart of kids and teenagers in her immediate circle of affection. When we say that in great art the particular always transcends into the universal I think of her unwavering commitment to relationships and the loved ones.

Immagini e ricordi della permanenza a Favignana per preparare la prima residenza intitolata al giornalista Alberto stabile e vinta dall’artista paul cupido. Mentre paul sta svolgendo in questi giorni il lavoro sulla piccola isola siciliana possiamo ripercorrere questi momenti meravigliosi e puntare a visitare the phair 2027 a torino per vedere il lavoro finito e per assistere alla seconda edizione del premio voluto da gabriele stabile e organizzata dalla sua galleria raw messina. Nel contemplare Agosto abbracciati preventivamente al condizionatore ci teniamo a darvi la rinfrescante novella che la vostra galleria di quartiere preferita parteciperà ad “Effetto Sauna” ( nome quantomai appropriato visti i tempi ) dal 9 all’11 ottobre, con opere di @paxpaloscia e @gloriapasotti nell’ambito di @artverona . Questa rassegna, curata da Tomás Ba, mette in dialogo due artiste che fanno della fotografia un cardine importante della propria ricerca. Non potremmo essere più orgogliosi di partecipare e di rendere possibile questo dialogo. A Verona!

I’ve known @peterfmeehan for a while and have spent quite a few years wondering about this one Americano. He is Sicilian in a way, has very many things in common with my kin: wit, a sense and a taste for revenge, sophisms, sarcasm, a penchant for the absurdity of life that sometimes precedes him. A love for food and real places: places with zero garnish so to say. This post is coming late, his pop up was yesterday, but we were busy catching up, trying restaurants like in the old days, and generically trying to stay away from bad vibes. We succeeded. Peter: come back when you feel like. Pete’s postcards are gonna be on view forever. Come see them and arraff’ one or two. All are welcome, good vibes only.

✨ L’eredità di un giornalista cittadino del mondo incontra la millenaria suggestione di Favignana.
Il Premio Residenza Alberto Stabile nasce come progetto dedicato alla ricerca artistica site-specific e al rapporto tra fotografia e paesaggio, invitando un artista a sviluppare una ricerca inedita sull’isola.
L’artista vincitore dell’edizione 2026 è Paul Cupido, rappresentato a The Phair da MC2 Gallery.
“Lo sguardo lirico del fotografo olandese Paul Cupido incontra la luce mutevole e il mare color vino dell’isola. Da questa sinergia ci aspettiamo possa prendere vita una reinterpretazione contemporanea delle forme della natura.”
Una residenza pensata come spazio di dialogo, osservazione e relazione profonda con il territorio.

The Alberto Stabile Residency Award was created as a project dedicated to site-specific artistic research and to the relationship between photography and landscape, inviting an artist to develop a new body of work on the island.
The winner of the 2026 edition is Paul Cupido, represented at The Phair by MC2 Gallery.
“The lyrical gaze of Dutch photographer Paul Cupido meets the island’s changing light and its wine-coloured sea. From this synergy, we hope a contemporary reinterpretation of the forms of nature can emerge.”
A residency conceived as a space for dialogue, observation and a deep relationship with the territory.

Intercapedini
There are images that continue to hold a presence precisely through its absence. “Intercapedini” moves through that subtle threshold where everyday places - interiors, transitional spaces, environments suspended between intimacy and passage - detach themselves from memory and open onto a more fragile, silent, and psychological dimension of refuge.
Esistono immagini che continuano a trattenere una presenza anche nel momento della sua assenza. “Intercapedini” attraversa quella soglia sottile in cui i luoghi del quotidiano: interni, spazi di passaggio, ambienti sospesi tra intimità e transito, si separano dal ricordo per aprirsi a una dimensione di rifugio più fragile, silenziosa e mentale.
