OPEN NOW: The folks behind the award-winning @simplybookshq have now opened the doors to their brand-new concept in Stockport. One of this year's most talked-about launches, and understandably so, @prologuestockport is an independent bookshop, cocktail bar (try the Fig Negroni), speciality coffee shop and dedicated event space, located within Stockport's Weir Mill development. The gorgeous venue features rolling ladders and floor-to-ceiling shelves packed with everything from prize-winning titles to sci-fi classics, and has been purpose-built to support a programme of author events, launches, open mics and performances. 06 Nov 2026

One week ago today, we opened the doors to Prologue. After so much planning, building, organising and anticipation, it was such a brilliant feeling to finally welcome you all in. From the first coffee to the last book sold, the whole day was full of energy, excitement and so many lovely moments. Thank you to everyone who came down, said hello, explored the space and helped make our opening day such a special one. What a way to begin the Prologue story.
