To execute Blood Star, a 10-day horror film, with limited takes, Lawrence Jacomelli and Pascal Combes-Knoke built the entire technical approach around three cameras — two RED Digital Cinema Geminis and one Komodo — shooting simultaneously. It wasn’t an indulgence; it was the formula. “People think three cameras is a luxury,” Lawrence says. “It wasn’t. It was our plan.” Cinematographer Combes-Knoke approached the film with tactical efficiency. Known for his artistry but also his problem-solving instincts, Combes-Knoke designed the shoot around speed, sensitivity and physical practicality. “This wasn’t a camera choice,” he says. “It was a survival choice.” Read more on our website. 26 Nov 2025

He recently shot DARKNESS OF MAN, starring Jean-Claude Van Damme, and soon to be released BOUNTY, starring Stephen Dorff and Ron Perlman. Besides being a Renaissance Man and a UPENN Grad, Pascal made a huge life change while studying Economics by coming to the darkside to study CINEMA. Pascal is a French-American dual citizen and was born and raised in Malibu Lake, CA, famously where Frankenstein met the little girl in the 1931 titular film but didn’t destroy her. I say that because Pascal is an awesome freak of nature himself. Everything he does is one of a kind. He’s an experience. And instead of a life of economics he switched to film theory at UPENN then returned west to study Film Production at Chapman University. And the rest was history. 11 Jun 2025
