Global Antiquity is on view at Fondazione Prada in Milan until 1 March 2027. The exhibition explores the interactions between the cultures of the Mediterranean and Asia from approximately 700 BC to 1000 AD. More than 150 artworks and artefacts trace the artistic, cultural, commercial and political networks that linked these regions and societies.
Designed by OMA/AMO, the exhibition translates the curatorial thesis into a series of individual stories, each presented through a display that reflects the different networks of exchange.

The new Hongik University Seoul Campus, designed by OMA / Chris van Duijn, has broken ground. The 150,000-square-meter development is the largest expansion in the university’s history and will be built largely underground at the foot of Wau Mountain, with rooftop landscapes linking the university to the mountain and the surrounding Hongdae district.
Since its construction in the 1950s, the campus has gradually expanded, leaving little room for green space between its buildings. The new development introduces a network of tree-shaded paths, courtyards and amphitheaters, while a central public level brings together university facilities and the surrounding neighborhood. The project is expected to be completed in mid-2031.

Introducing Good Times General Store.
A centre for craft and creative exchange at Desa Potato Head, Bali.
A vision for retail beyond transaction - centred on connection through the art of making. Workshops form the heart of the store, with Potato Head and Wasted collections presented in the surrounding spaces.
Architecture developed in exchange with OMA / David Gianotten. Interiors by Potato Head Design Studio and island artisans. A shared exploration of local craftsmanship, natural materials and zero-waste experimentation.
Workshops in natural dyeing, weaving, upcycling and recycling invite participation, connecting the knowledge of makers with everyday life at the Desa.

From the OMA Archive: The Almere Masterplan, designed by OMA in 1994, supported the city’s quantum leap from an agglomeration of distinct and "equal" centers, each with its own concentration of facilities, into a city with a recognizable hierarchy in the programmatic development.
On 17 September 2026, De Nieuwe Bibliotheek Almere will screen De ontdekking van Almere, a 25-year-old documentary chronicling the city’s transformation and growth. Following the screening, OMA Managing Partner – Architect David Gianotten will join a panel discussion reflecting on OMA’s role in shaping Almere’s city centre.

OMA has been directly commissioned by the residents of Taipei’s Songshan Yulin Yuan Community to redevelop their housing into the Songshan Urban Renewal Residence. The project transforms a block of aging walk-ups into two 24-story towers composed of four interlocking vertical slabs connected by public platforms that respond to their surroundings.
David Gianotten, OMA Managing Partner – Architect: “Songshan Yulin Yuan is part of a 1960s planned neighborhood defined by low density, interconnected building types, and abundant greenery. Through close engagement with residents, we understood that these are qualities that the community wish to retain in the renewed housing. Our proposal reinterprets these defining traits to create a contemporary collective living environment.”

Elia Zenghelis, my teacher, has died. Without his exuberant talent OMA – as an idea – would not exist. Today it is hard to imagine the state of euphoria about architecture and about what architecture can do that made him a great example, inspiration and partner in crime. His falsetto singing in our small New York living room, bent over a drawing board, DESIGNING at 2am, will remain proof that architecture can make you happy. The generosity he invested – his entire life – in other people’s talent is monumental. Our connection at a crucial moment generated the insights and energy to launch our project. Rem Koolhaas.

A civic space born from utopian visions, the mall is where shopping and public life converge. The Mall is a design, research and curatorial partnership between @oma.eu and @powerhousemuseum. The exhibition takes Western Sydney’s pivotal role in leading a global model of large-scale, transport-integrated retail as a catalyst for exploring the social and cultural phenomena of shopping malls. People, product and capital appear to flow effortlessly through these climate-controlled spaces, their movement carefully shaped by economics, architecture, design and technology.

Powerhouse Parramatta – Western Sydney’s first state cultural institution, opening to the public on Saturday 7 November 2026 – has revealed The Mall as one of its five opening exhibitions.
The Mall has been created with OMA/AMO’s David Gianotten, Gabriel Duarte and Sylvia Chan, with curation and research developed in partnership with Powerhouse. The exhibition explores the shopping mall as an architectural and urban typology, and how it has evolved in response to shifting lifestyles, technologies and patterns of consumption.
Westfield Parramatta, once Australia’s largest mall, provides an important local reference, alongside Western Sydney’s role in developing large-scale retail centres integrated with public transport.
Presented within a black box gallery, the exhibition is organised around five thematic nodes: Desire, Arcade, Transaction, Ideal City and Forum. Each draws its geometry from OMA/AMO’s research into 101 malls worldwide, arranged on a continuous ground plane inspired by the suburban car park. Together, they examine both the visible experience of the mall and the spatial, technological, economic, cultural and social systems behind it, while considering its evolving civic role.
Alongside the exhibition, five bookazines bring together interdisciplinary contributions that document and speculate on the shopping mall as an evolving cultural form.

In progress: OMA’s forthcoming book brings together ongoing research on Rome and evolving ideas for a new urban development model for the city.
If Rome continues to evolve as a palimpsest, which new layers can promote social, environmental, and economic sustainability – while preserving identity, enabling transformation, and fostering innovation?

Rome’s urban development has long been shaped by the tension between ambitious masterplans and their incomplete realization. Growth along a radial network of ancient Roman roads reinforced the historic centre while leaving peripheral areas fragmented and unevenly connected.
As the city continues to evolve, how can a more cohesive urban model strengthen connectivity and integrate its diverse layers?
Rome has an extraordinarily large municipal territory – more than 1,200 km², comparable in scale to London and Greater Paris. Yet it lacks the density typically associated with major metropolitan centres, with vast areas of low-density development and open land.
How can critical mass be created to support efficient, high-capacity mobility systems in Rome – the “Empty London”?
Across Rome’s vast territory lies a heterogeneous landscape of voids, marginal spaces, residual infrastructure, abandoned heritage, and undeveloped land, which together account for nearly 80% of the municipal area.
Could they become a resource for reconnecting fragmented neighbourhoods, creating new public realms, and enabling forms of community reappropriation?
Among Europe’s greenest capitals, Rome is shaped by countryside, parks, rivers, and agricultural wedges that cut across the metropolitan area.
How can this landscape become generative ecological and social infrastructure?
A city of well‑being:
Roma Continua identifies five green corridors with distinct roles – from metropolitan recreation and environmental restoration to agriculture and biodiversity – while supporting soft mobil

Diego Marcon’s exhibition Prom at Lafayette Anticipations is open until the end of this week, Sunday 19 July.
Inside the courtyard of Lafayette Anticipations, Marcon combines the late Renaissance Italian theatre with the modern cinema. The exhibition presents four films made using a combination of animation techniques, props and figurines: The Parents Room (2021), Dolle (2023), La Gola (2024) and Krapfen (2025). Each explores the mechanisms through which emotion is produced, drawing on genres including the musical, burlesque, melodrama and horror.

The Martin, a residential tower part of the Amsterdam’s Bajes Kwartier, has been completed. Designed by OMA / David Gianotten and Mariano Sagasta, the project consists of four interlocking volumes and is defined by a layered, permeable façade with continuous balconies along its perimeter. It forms the latest addition to OMA’s masterplan to transform the former Bijlmerbajes prison (1978–2016) into a sustainable neighbourhood integrated into the city’s urban fabric.
