At the emotional centre of the production is Olga Busuioc’s Tosca, moving between fierce jealousy and anger, tenderness and devotion, and ultimately desperation. With a commanding stage presence and beautiful vocal timbre, Busuioc captures attention from her first notes. In a production where much of the action is concealed or only partly visible, her reactions become an essential part of the storytelling. She brings energy and emotional debth to the role. Her jealousy has an almost impulsive intensity, while her exchanges with Cavaradossi reveal warmth, affection and passion. Her secure upper register and expressive phrasing support this dramatic range, while Vissi d’arte is delivered with tenderness and melancholy. Her confrontation with Scarpia reveals another dimension of her interpretation. Faced with his unpredictable behaviour, Busuioc responds with spontaneity, shifting between fear, desperation and determination as she struggles to save Cavaradossi. Tosca | Bühnen Bern Five performances of Puccini’s Tosca in Bern, and a wonderful chapter comes to an end. I’m grateful to have been part of this production and to have had the opportunity to explore such a complex and deeply human character. Each performance brought its own discoveries and emotions. Those last thirty seconds were so powerful and so intense that my ears were stillringing afterwards, and this was exactly the kind of Tosca ending I want to experience: completely committed, completely physical and completely overwhelming. There was no holding back, and the sheer force of those final moments stayed with me longafter the curtain came down. O mai văzusem o singură dată, cu aproape exact un an în urmă, la Praga, unde a interpretat rolul Desdemonei, alături de prietenul meu Denis, în rolul lui Otello. Mi-a plăcut enorm în acel rol, așa că eram foarte curios să o ascult acum într-un rol mult mai amplu și considerabil mai solicitant, precum Tosca. Olga s-a ridicat pe deplin la înălțimea așteptărilor, cu o voce frumoasă, o prezență scenică puternică și note înalte de o claritate minunată. Dar ceea ce mi-a plăcut în mod deosebit a fost relația pe care a construit-o cu Scarpia. Între cei doi exista ceva cu adevărat electrizant, iar eu am avut impresia că unele dintre cele mai puternice momente ale ei s-au născut tocmai din aceste scene, în care tensiunea dintre atracție, teamă, furie și rezistență devine aproape palpabilă. Iar apoi a venit finalul, care a fost absolut incredibil. Ultimele treizeci de secunde au fost atât de puternice și de intense, încât încă îmi țiuiau urechile după aceea. Și exact acesta este genul de final al operei Tosca pe care îmi doresc să îl trăiesc: interpretat cu o implicare totală, cu o forță fizică extraordinară și copleșitor din toate punctele de vedere. Invitata acestui episod este Olga Busuioc, soprană cu o carieră internațională, care a plecat din Republica Moldova pentru a-și construi drumul pe marile scene ale operei. A crescut într-un cămin alături de părinții artiști, în lumea teatrului, dar nu a urmat de la început calea pe care mulți ar fi așteptat-o de la ea. A plecat pe ascuns la colegiul de muzică, a studiat la Conservator alături de mama sa, Tatiana Busuioc, iar mai târziu a ajuns singură în Italia, la școala de canto fondată de Luciano Pavarotti. În acest interviu, Olga povestește despre începuturile dificile, primele concerte în Italia și concursurile care i-au schimbat parcursul. Vorbim despre premiul de 25.000 de euro câștigat la un concurs la care nu avea voie să participe, despre scepticismul italienilor și despre lucrurile mai puțin cunoscute din culisele lumii operei: presiuni, șantaj, orgolii și cerințele marilor vedete. Dar dincolo de scenă există și o viață care cere echilibru. Cum reușește o soprană să fie, în același timp, artistă, soție și mamă? Cum te consumă scena și ce faci atunci când ajungi la epuizare? Olga vorbește despre relația cu părinții, despre soțul german, familia acestuia și lecțiile pe care le-a învățat trăind între culturi.
