Twenty years later, I still love travel as much as I did back then, even if it looks different now. My advice to you? Never stop and take pictures of everyone because twenty years from now you’ll be glad you have photos of the people who shaped your life. I wish I took more photos. I'm currently making a few videos (1 is in final edits!), some new carousels, finishing my Substack website, writing articles for Substack, and (most importantly) working on my book. It's been very fulfilling to be so creative again. I have so many ideas I can't wait to do. I'm trying to get better at releasing new content on a better flow but I'm also still figuring out how to juggle all these new projects so just bear with me! But things are happening!! My travel style has changed a lot since my backpacking days. A lot of it is just a product of getting older and needing more comfort (especially because I am a terrible sleeper) but also what I like has changed too. I now love walking and food tours, I’m a lot more into art, my palate has changed, and I’m a much more adventurous eater! Sometimes I’m like “25 year old me would think what I’m about to eat is sooooo gross!” but heck those fried caterpillars were good! Here’s my simple five step process for collecting points and miles and redeeming them for flights. I think a lot of people overcomplicate this stuff and that scares people away from taking advantage of these cards. If you pay your bill off each month, having a points earning card is a no brainer. I’ve saved so much money using points for flight and hotels. And, while bloggers and website talk about this system and that system and moving points from X to Y to Z to get a little bit of extra value, 99.99% of people don’t need to do that. Heck, I don’t always do that because I don’t want to spend hours on this to get 1% extra savings. Points are there to save you time and money. So here’s my simple process to follow because I don’t think this stuff should be complicated!
