Always proud of our content at Vogue Arabia, alternating fashion with stories of cultural relevance. This month, our columnist @halagorani took us to Syria for a three-part series focusing on the people and places driving change while preserving the culture of Damascus.

As Syria continues to navigate a new chapter following the fall of the regime, more people are returning to reconnect with the country’s rich traditions and enduring sense of community. In an exclusive three part series, journalist #HalaGorani, reflects on the connection to the country marking her third visit there, “The thing I always tell people about Syria is that all you have to do to strike up a conversation with total strangers is take a walk down a busy street.”
While in the capital, Gorani meets #ZaherSamir, the Syrian artist behind the now-iconic Damascus rose-inspired chair used by singer #Assala during her first performance following the fall of the regime. Specialising in intricate woodwork and mother-of-pearl craftsmanship, Samir is dedicated to preserving the centuries-old artistry of Damascus.

At Vogue Arabia, we take great pride in bringing our readers some of the best journalism and most beautiful imagery in the region. Something else I’m particularly proud of is our commitment to education.
Earlier this month, as part of the Vogue Arabia Ball, we announced a partnership with Art House Education Dubai to offer free fine art courses to aspiring creatives who want to develop their skills.
And today, I’m excited to share what’s next. Vogue Arabia is partnering with Montblanc and Jordanian-Palestinian actress Saja Kilani, one of the stars of the Oscar-nominated film The Voice of Hind Rajab, to offer a masterclass in poetry and creative writing for students at the American University of Sharjah.
To all the students at AUS, I hope you’ll join us this week. And a big thank you to the American University of Sharjah, Montblanc and Saja for bringing this project to life. I can’t wait to share more with you soon. #voguearabia

Sure, we love extravagance. But the #VogueArabiaBall2026 is about more than a night of celebration. Rooted in commitment towards local talent, the Ball also seeks to create educational opportunities for UAE’s creative minds.
“Besides the glamour and the red carpet, the educational side of the Vogue Arabia Ball is key to me and the Vogue Arabia team”, shares Manuel Arnaut, Head of Editorial Content. “Alongside collaborating with Emirati artists and celebrating their creativity, we want to extend the Ball’s impact beyond the night itself and create meaningful opportunities for our readers and anyone who loves creativity. Through our collaboration with Art House Education Dubai, we are offering courses and opening doors for aspiring artists to develop their skills and engage with the arts without financial barriers. This is something I am particularly proud to have woven into our first edition,”.
In partnership with #ArtHouseEducationDubai, five participants of the challenge will win a complimentary intensive fine arts course at the KHDA-approved institution. Visit our website for all the details.

Art, Haifa and the Vogue Arabia Ball. Could November be more epic? Thank you to everyone working of these projects ❤️
From the Editor’s Letter: “Ever since I was a little boy, I remember watching my mother paint at home. She would seat me in the brightest room of the house, and with a cigarette in the corner of her mouth start to mix colours on a big white canvas in front of me.
During this time, without losing her focus and armed with a rainbow at the end of her brush, she would inquire about my day, what I studied at school and occasionally ask for advice. “Do you think this sun needs a bit more orange or more red?”
This brings us to this very special art issue, celebrating the inaugural Vogue Arabia Ball. When we had to decide the theme for this event, art was on the top of my list. For this first edition, we are celebrating art through the female gaze, placing women’s creativity at the centre of the evening. Helping us bring this vision to life are two Emirati creatives, Shaikha Al Mazrou and Dhabia Al Qubaisi.
After some pretty chaotic months, we decided to host this event in the UAE as our cultural landscape is flourishing, with new museums opening and major art fairs taking place. We hope the Vogue Arabia Ball sends a clear message of optimism and energy, proving Dubai is still a global creative hub.
In this issue, you will find all the details about our event, with extensive profiles of its participants, a reveal of the team behind it and our very special musical act by @haifawehbe Since her debut album in 2002, Wehbe has never allowed herself to be tamed or controlled. “Some may have played a part along the way, but no one on Earth can claim to have made Haifa Wehbe from scratch,” she told us.
Just like any masterpiece, the iconic singer has developed her life and career with the energy and explosion of a Pollock, proving that our best moments – in life and in general – come when we paint outside the lines.”

“Ana Haifa ana, meen ghairi ana?”
From the beginning, #HaifaWehbe’s beauty and talent has attracted attention and admiration, crowning her as one of Arabia’s most beloved characters.
Through it all, she never let doubts define her ambitions, kept making her own choices, developing an artistic identity that defied convention and others’ expectations, “I am under no obligation to explain myself. To do so would imply I am seeking approval and I am most certainly not.”
At the link in bio, discover the strong sense of self Haifa possesses in #VogueArabia’s November cover story.

In a countdown to a celebration of art through the female gaze at #VogueArabiaBall2026 on November 13, we look into #HaifaWehbe’s magnanimous career. The foundation of it all? An impeccable work ethic. “I am deeply disciplined and invested in what I do. Respecting time is, at its core, honouring the art itself. In your career, you sometimes have to give up a great deal to achieve what you set out to. Your decisions must be exquisitely aligned with your goals.”
She has gained regional recognition and international fame, and through it all, Haifa remains proud of her heritage, “I want my people to feel proud when they see an artist from their homeland being celebrated globally. No matter where I travel, Lebanon remains my first love.”
Get to know the Arab icon as she lets us into her world of fame, freedom and the life beyond it in the November issue of #VogueArabia
