Some of my favorite things at this morning’s trip to the @amherst.farmers.market - - @bakerslanebiscotti @amherstcollege student leaders (raising funds for @amherstsurvival ) and @amherstcollege leaders like Sarah Barr and @amherst_president , a red lab from Pelham named Blaze, apples from @apex_orchards … plus all the neighbors who said hello, wished me congratulations and shared their excitement for this week’s election results.

The Amherst Area Chamber of Commerce @amherstareacc annual legislative breakfast is always a great opportunity to see so many friends and neighbors and hear their concerns. It’s typically a wonderful gathering of small business owners, nonprofit and museum directors, town and public officials, folks from UMass and Amherst College … and last week’s breakfast was so well attended and an important time to connect and share priorities on economic development, the importance of arts and culture and agriculture to our local economy, and a legislative update. Thanks to Tara Brewster for moderating our panel and appreciation to my legislative partners and co-panelists, Senator Jo Comerford and Representative Aaron Saunders

Last week, the legislature celebrated the 65th anniversary of the Peace Corps by honoring Massachusetts residents who recently completed their Peace Corps service, and recognizing those who are preparing to head oversees in the near future. Among those recognized was one of our neighbors, Claire Basler-Chang. Claire recently returned from serving as a youth development coordinator in Belize. Thank you, Claire, for your service abroad, and your impactful work engaging with young people in such a profound capacity! Grateful for your commitment!

I spent the morning earlier this week with superintendents from rural school districts across the region at a rural schools summit where these districts’ challenges, strengths and areas of need were shared and discussed. Participants also suggested policy solutions which would support their districts and help them grow and thrive.
I so appreciate that my colleague, Rep. Ken Gordon, House Chair of the Joint Committee on Education, attended the summit, in addition to the Secretary of Education Dr. Stephen Zrike Jr and Pedro Martinez, the Commissioner of the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and their teams, along with Governor Healey’s Rural Affairs Director Ann Gobi and Kristen Elechko, the Governor's western MA regional director.

To my friends, neighbors and constituents, thank you for your continued support and for the privilege of continuing to serve you in the Massachusetts House of Representatives.
And to everyone who took the time to make their voices heard yesterday, thank you for participating in the election and exercising your right to vote. Yesterday’s results in support of Democratic candidates at the state level, in Congress and in governorships across the country reminds me of the quote, “Participation — that's what's gonna save the human race." Democracy works because people show up and participate.
Yesterday’s elections were not only the biggest NO KINGS rally yet, but they were also a rejection of the hate, chaos, corruption and cruelty that has permeated our national political landscape. I believe yesterday’s results were a celebration of human rights, resilience, and kindness.
And hope.
What’s next?
Possibility.
Yesterday’s election does not mean our work is done, it means we proceed. Together.
Let’s do this. -
Mindy
P.S. and thank you for your votes to defeat dangerous question 5.

If you use a Verizon landline, you may see a change in service coming. There are no actions you need to take right now, but public comment is being accepted by the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) under docket 26-252.
Verizon is applying to the FCC to move away from their copper-wire landline service, but the application has not yet been accepted or approved. The company is responsible for helping you install any new equipment or make other changes as needed. If you have concerns about a possible change, share your concerns with the FCC by going to: www.fcc.gov/ecfs/filings/express and leaving your comment under docket number 26-252. My team will continue to track this and will bring updates. If you have questions, please be in touch with us at: [email protected].
Our legislative director, Ruby McElhone Yates, put together a "frequently asked questions" fact sheet on this, current as of 10/31/26. You can find it here: https://repmindydomb.com/verizon-landline-service/
