Love and betrayal 🗡️ @sonyayoncheva and Michael Spyres (@spikelmyers) are currently starring in Cherubini’s Medea as the title character and her unfaithful husband, Giasone, in this retelling of the classic Greek tragedy. A heart in mourning 💔 @missymazzoli and librettist @rvavrek’s new opera Lincoln in the Bardo, based on George Saunders’s uniquely American novel, has been captivating audiences this fall. Among the kaleidoscopic residents of the bardo is Bevins, sung by Jonah Hoskins (@hoskinsjonah), who is grieving a failed love affair while trying to convince Willie to move on to the next world. 📅 Lincoln in the Bardo is on stage through November 14. A triumphant entrance 🐂 The 2010 transmission of Bizet’s Carmen returns to movie theaters November 14 for a special encore presentation as part of the 20th-anniversary season of The Met: Live in HD. An iconic tragedy dialed up through music 🎼 Cherubini’s fiery retelling of the Greek tragedy Medea is on the Met stage now, conducted by Carlo Rizzi. One of the greatest operas of the 20th century ⭐ Rehearsals are underway for the premiere of @clausguth’s new staging of Janáček’s Jenůfa, which stars leading soprano @asmikgrigorianofficial in the title role.
