Two of the Mark VII’s seven modes appear twice. FAT and CRUNCH both live in Channel 1 and again in Channel 2, and that’s deliberate. It means you can dedicate two of your three footswitchable channels to the same sound, set two different ways. CRUNCH can sit at a soft-clip edge in Channel 1 for pushed chording and a notch higher in Channel 2 for classic rock rhythm. Or keep the exact same CRUNCH in both at two volume levels, one for rhythm and one for soloing. FAT works the same way for clean players who want two cleans and a lead. Every channel also has its own EQ on/off, its own reverb mix and its own power setting, so the two copies of a mode can be voiced and placed differently even when the preamp sound is the same. Two cleans and a lead, two crunches and a lead, or three heavy sounds. The layout covers all of it. 05 Nov 2026 Here's a quick breakdown of the California Tweed 6V6 4:40's two inputs. NORMAL is the full-strength input. It’s the brighter of the two and gives the tone controls their full range. Past noon on the GAIN, it’s where the amp slides between clean and breakup in response to your touch. LOW is padded, so less signal reaches the first tube stage. Hot pickups get max headroom there and the cleanest possible response, at the cost of some punch and brightness. It’s excellent for single-note work, and it’s very hard to push into clipping at all. Worth remembering when you choose between them: brightness is easy to mistake for headroom. Start in NORMAL, and reach for LOW when clean matters more than cut. 02 Nov 2026 The 90s Dual Rectifier Standard with the Tight Mod is here as a one-time limited run. The Tight Mod is designed by amp designer John Marshall. John has added a preset internal overdrive circuit that adds minimal drive and maximum level to the front end, so the attack gets tighter and more percussive. A NORMAL/TIGHT switch next to the GAIN knob brings it in. Here, @dougdopplermusic puts it through its paces in the clip. Black chassis, chrome Speed knobs, polished aluminum Diamond Plate. Get it at your favorite local Mesa/Boogie dealer or with the link in bio! 29 Oct 2026 Badlander 100s, 4x12 Rectifiers & SGs make up the ingredients in the rig Will Levy has on the road with The Story So Far. The MIDDLE is the only tone control without one, because moving its frequency in either direction sounded harsh or boxy, so we left it alone. VOLUME 1 pulls for BRIGHT, adding shimmer and air above where the TREBLE and PRESENCE work. It’s strongest with VOLUME 1 below 5 and fades out as you turn it up. TREBLE pulls for SHIFT, moving the treble lower and boosting it for thicker chords and more commanding single notes. It only affects the Lead Mode. BASS pulls for SHIFT as well, adding breathy sub-lows that suit clean Rhythm sounds. MASTER pulls for DEEP, a fuller low end that sits late enough in the circuit to stay tight under gain. LEAD MASTER pulls for BRIGHT in the Lead Mode. LEAD DRIVE pulls to put you in Lead without a footswitch, and overrides the footswitch while it’s out. One habit worth building: push them all back in before the amp travels. A pulled knob that gets bumped in transit can shear off. 23 Oct 2026 The mechanical line is where we're adding electromechanical components to the circuit boards; things like pots, transformer, tube sockets, and more.. From there, it makes its way to Keo--our last line of defense for the last 34 years! Watch Chapter of What Makes a Boogie with the link in our bio! 21 Oct 2026 The Subway+ Bass DI-Preamp II was shaped by the bass players who used what came before it. It folds the features of our two original DI-Pre's into one compact pedal, drawing on the Subway DI-Pre, the D-350, the D-800 and the D-800+ along with what their owners told us. It weighs 1.1 pounds and is built to go the distance gig after gig. Send it straight to front of house, feed a power amp, or practice to a click in headphones. Your sound lives on your pedalboard and goes wherever you do. 19 Oct 2026 Each channel on the Subway TT-800 has its own effects loop, and either return can take a preamp instead of an effect. Plug your favorite preamp pedal or rack pre into the BOOGIE or SUBWAY return and it takes that channel’s place. Channel switching still works, so you can flip between your outboard preamp and the remaining onboard channel from the footswitch, with the channel volumes setting the balance. The power amp, headphone out and post-EQ DI all keep working with it in the chain. 15 Oct 2026 The Limited Edition @mesaengineering 90s Dual Rectifier MOD 1 incorporates the Tight Mod from the Triple Crown - an internal overdrive circuit that tightens up the bottom end while adding drive and liquidity. From Metal to Blues to sparkling cleans, there’s virtually no tone I can’t dial in on this amp using the three gain modes, Bold/Spongy (variac) power switch, and the dual rectifiers. AMAZING!!! 15 Oct 2026 Your Boogie starts with a 5x5 sheet of Baltic Birch in the woodshop. From there, your amp makes its way through Assembly where it starts taking shape, followed by Sanding where the team preps for the vinyl wrap. Watch Chap. 3 of What Makes a Boogie with the link in bio! 14 Oct 2026 If you're playing small and mid-size rooms with the amp on the floor, you may be running more top end than you need. The Badlander 25’s TREBLE and PRESENCE can cut hard and a lot of our favorite sounds on it sit below noon on both, sometimes with the TREBLE all the way off and the MID’s broad band carrying the bite. Every so often, put your head down by the speakers for a second. It’s the quickest way to hear what everyone else is hearing. 12 Oct 2026
