We are excited to welcome the Dallas–Dallas County Food Plan Collaborative as a new tenant in the Wilson Historic District. Shaped by more than 450 organizations across Dallas and Dallas County, the collaborative is moving from planning to implementation around 12 shared goals for a stronger, more resilient regional food system. For 45 years, the Wilson Historic District has been home to nonprofits working to strengthen our communities. We’re proud to welcome the collaborative as part of that tradition. 15 Sep 2026

A day spent visiting our current and former Wilson Historic District partners was a powerful reminder of what community makes possible. From creating welcoming spaces for children and families to supporting survivors, returning citizens, and nonprofit leaders, each organization shared how the District has helped them grow and better serve Dallas. Thank you to these incredible nonprofit organizations for taking the time to speak to our Board and staff. April is National Volunteer Month, and our team got their hands dirty for a great cause! 🌿 We had the honor of volunteering at Liberty Street Garden, an initiative rooted in restoration and community. This innovative partnership between The Meadows Foundation (@meadowsfoundation), New Friends New Life (@newfriendsnewlife), and Bonton Farms (@bontonfarms) provides survivors of human trafficking a pathway to earn a living wage as they rebuild their lives. Liberty Street Garden is located in Dallas’ Wilson Historic District. It features specialty produce sold at farmers’ markets, local restaurants, and throughout the community. Every seed planted is a step toward healing and economic independence. Want to be part of something meaningful? Anyone can volunteer at Liberty Street Garden!
