We had soooo many incredible applications for the Residency this year, so we also wanted to highlight several of our finalists, who will each get a free bundle of day passes at Meadow to work on their projects this fall. Our finalists: 🌸Karen Loong, founder of Mui Mui Blooms, who will be launching a handmade botanical stationery line as a way of bringing floral joy into everyday life 📚Mariel Schlesinger, who will be editing her debut novel about a college senior whose future begins to unravel 🌈Lil Miss Hot Mess, who is finalizing an academic book that examines the intersections of drag “and/as” technology - and also working on her next picture books! 🌴Sophie Janinet, who is writing, producing and hosting two podcasts (one in English and one in French) meant to shed a different light on Los Angeles - like Humans of New York, but with a heavy dose of Frenchness THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO APPLIED! ✨The Fall 2026 Meadow Artist in Residence is MIRIAM RANDOLPH ✨ Miriam is an actor, writer, and educator from Chicago but currently based in Los Angeles. She recently graduated with her MFA in acting from CalArts. She will use this residency to workshop a full-length play about one of our most influential but unknown figures in American cuisine, James Hemings. This residency will give her the space and time to rework her script, research, and work directly with actors to bring this piece to life for a presentation. And now 🥁🥁🥁 we would love to introduce you to our Fall 2026 Residency Cohort ➡️➡️➡️ *ignore the label - no AI was used in the making of this post, the graphics are hand drawn and we write our own copy* MAX BENITEZ is an artist and writer based in Los Angeles, working across film, TV, and visual media. During the residency, he’ll make analog photographs of the people who live and work in Highland Park. By sidestepping digital technology, he hopes to create images that evoke the trust and vulnerability of face-to-face community. KIMBERLY KAMGANG is a proud first-generation Latina American and the founder of Don Ramon Plumbing, a business she built from her father’s decades of plumbing expertise. During her time at Meadow, she’ll be focused on transforming Don Ramon Plumbing from a traditional, word-of-mouth operation into a modern, community-rooted brand. She is passionate about honoring her father’s hard work and carrying his legacy forward with pride. HANNAH LEVIN is a filmmaker, writer, and actor. Across her work, she blends comedy and discomfort to explore dark themes, with an eye toward subversion and social criticism. During her time at Meadow, she will be working on the feature adaptation of her award-winning short, “Golden Child.” JAKE NOLL is a stand up comedian who has appeared all over LA, including as an opener for Kristin Key and Ever Mainard’s Netflix Is A Joke shows. During the residency, Jake will be working on “Zipper Titz,” a half hour of stand up comedy that seeks to take the wind out of the sails of the red herring that is gender discourse. Doing a double table read with Ross Stracke (writer for “Invincible” on Amazon Prime) on Monday, November 9. His pilot script “The Wilsons” is incredibly funny with amazing characters. I was like, “I have to see this on its feet.” And I also wrote a Christmas play about how I hate Wemby! Awesome actors, I hope to see you there!
