This photo I shot at the @leicasociety Spring Shoot in London was recently featured on the cover of Viewfinder magazine, along with a few more images in the recap article about the event. In today’s digital world, it’s really exciting to see your work appear in print! . The cover photo was made with a Leica 35mm Summicron V1 (8-element) lens from 1959, which gives it a classic, vintage character, even on the modern M11-p digital camera body. . The 2027 Spring Shoot events will be held in Chicago (April 15-17) and Paris (June 3-5) - hope to see you there! @leicasociety 03 Nov 2026

We are pleased to announce Louis Lemaire-Sicre (@louislemairesicre) as the recipient of the 2026 LSI Photography Grant! Louis Lemaire-Sicre is a photojournalist working across the former Soviet space, where war, memory, and political rupture continue to reshape ordinary lives. His practice traces the quiet transformations of societies living at the edge of conflict, in places where yesterday’s empires still define tomorrow’s realities. Through long-term documentary work, he focuses on underreported communities navigating the tension between survival and continuity. He is currently living in Kyiv, where he has been based full time since the beginning of 2025 Our 2026 runner-up is Takeshi Yamamoto (@t_yama0420), a Japanese documentary photographer whose work examines how people, communities and landscapes are transformed by disaster, social change and the passage of time. Since 2011, he has documented Fukushima following the earthquake, tsunami, and Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster.
