Last week, I traveled for a total of 37+ hours to spend 54 hours in Tokyo, just so I could pay respects to my late grandma ๐ค๐
(I'm still recovering from jetlag, but I did write a little something if anyone cares to read ๐ฅฐ it's after the photos)

Dear Dad,
If you had told me that I would graduate from Johns Hopkins with a Doctorate in Nursing Practice 10+ years ago, I would've laughed in disbelief.
Losing you halfway through college was a very pivotal, life changing event. I felt so lost and broken. I was full of insecurities and didn't know what I was doing with my life. My entire nursing career has been an uphill battle since the beginning to be honest. After I graduated college, I have moved cross country 6 times, worked 7 different RN jobs (including 3 travel assignments), spent countless hours studying and learning, all while having fun along the way.
Sometimes, I wonder if you are okay with the chaotic lifestyle that adapted me into the person I am today. I've always wondered if you would have been proud of me despite my untraditional aesthetic and hobbies. However, a friend once told me that our parents come from a different generation and you would have accepted me for who I am. I really hope that's true, and perhaps why everything seems to work out in the end.
I celebrated my graduation in many different ways. I traveled to 4 cities and reconnected with many loved ones who were proud of my accomplishments and showered me with love. I am not only grateful for the memories, but also for their endless support. I wish you had the chance to meet them.
The future is still up in the air, but for now, I started another travel nurse contract in San Francisco. I am so happy to be back home, and can't wait to see what's in store. I still miss you every single day, but I will keep working on my goals diligently and hope I'm continuing to make you proud, wherever you are.
