14 years ago today my life changed forever. I have lived half my life with a disability now. My stroke changed the way I do things like open doors, tie my shoes, and walk. It didn’t change my goals, my dreams, my heart, and how I enjoy life. To whoever reads this, don’t settle. Don’t settle for something you are miserable doing, don’t settle with being told you aren’t good enough or too slow. Since what happened to me I have pushed myself beyond what I thought I was capable of, met friends that I call family, and enjoyed my life more than I ever had before.
