This past summer, I visited @anthonycalydon studio in Paris and became an instant fan of his work. Getting to spend time with him and see how he approaches his work made me want to bring some of that back home. It means a lot when someone makes the trip here to share what they do. I’ve always wanted Chicago to be part of those exchanges, and having a space where we can make that happen is something I don’t take lightly! Another year I don’t take for granted 🎈 My grandma called me this morning and reminded me what a blessing it is to have made it this far. Nothing in life is ever promised. The older I get the more I realize that. Woke up today feeling thankful for everything God has given me and hoping I can continue to bless others. As long as I have breath in my lungs, I find it hard to complain nowadays Thankful to be here. Thankful for the love. Let’s keep being kind to each other. Finally, I get to talk about it 😭 After two weeks of “quietly” opening our doors and letting people experience the space little by little, we’re finally ready to show the bigger picture. Every Now and Then / Josephine’s Years in the making. I wanted this space to represent where I’m at in life right now. Design, art, architecture, technology, food, and storytelling all living under one roof. But more than anything, I wanted to create a real place for people to gather. Something that feels nostalgic to why I first fell in love with streetwear. @josephinesbyjoe , our café, is named after my grandmother. It’s inspired by the summers I spent in Alabama, being around family, and the memories connected to food, tea, music, and slowing down for a little while. This weekend is our official opening weekend.
