Hollywood actors drive Ferraris. My friend Jerry O’Connell? He drives a 1979 Cadillac Seville he bought on Craigslist for $12,000. And yes, it’s already been stolen once!
This week in the Garage, we take a look at Jerry’s Cadillac, which was one of the most expensive cars you could buy in 1979. It’s got a V8, fuel injection, cruise control, and those fender-top turn signal indicators that make Jerry feel like an astronaut. Of course, I found a few things we need to work on, too. And we get into the story of how somebody took his beloved Caddy for a joyride down the Pacific Coast Highway at nearly 90 miles per hour.
Jerry’s got some great stories about growing up around Cadillacs, learning to drive, and why you should never touch another man’s car. Come join us in the Garage!

When a Hennessey comes to the Garage, you know things are about to get interesting. This time bringing the Hennessey Blackbird, a car inspired by the legendary SR-71 Blackbird spy plane. And believe me, this thing looks like it belongs at 80,000 feet just as much as it does on the road!
Joining us is Hennessey’s VP of Design, Nathan Malinick, to talk about the inspiration behind this incredible machine and how you turn the spirit of one of the most extraordinary aircraft ever built into a hypercar.
We’ve had John in the Garage plenty of times over the years, but the Blackbird is something special. Check it out on Jay Leno’s Garage!

We’ve done a couple of collaborations with Sheffield Watches, and they’ve sold out pretty quickly. So, we thought, why not make the next one a little more special?
This time, we’re paying tribute to one of the most unusual and legendary cars in my garage..the Chrysler Turbine Car.
There’s nothing quite like a turbine engine. It sounds different, it drives different, and when Chrysler built these cars in the 1960s, they were really looking into the future.
Sheffield has taken that inspiration and put it into a watch that I think is a pretty fitting tribute to this incredible piece of automotive history.
The new Jay Leno’s Garage x Sheffield collaboration drops Thursday morning.
If you missed the last ones, you might want to set your alarm. They didn’t last very long.

Bruce McLaren had a pretty simple idea: build a car that could go racing on Sunday and still be useful on Monday.
This is Bruce’s personal 1969 McLaren M6GT and it’s one of the most fascinating McLarens ever built. He could race it, drive it on the street, and even stop to get groceries. That was the idea behind it: performance without giving up practicality.
And now McLaren has brought that idea back.
I’m joined by McLaren Chief Design Officer Kemal Curic to look at Bruce’s original M6GT and the modern interpretation that pays tribute to its spirit. It’s amazing to see how much of Bruce’s original thinking still comes through in a car designed more than 50 years later.
Two generations. One idea: build something incredibly fast that you actually want to drive.

Newport, Rhode Island is always a pretty good place to spend the day , but when you add a whole lot of great cars, great people, and The Gathering at Audrain Newport Concours & Motor Week, it gets even better.
Had a great time catching up with friends, checking out some incredible cars, and talking cars from every angle. And of course, I also had the chance to sit down with Spike and Jonny Lieberman for their podcast.
A beautiful day in Newport, surrounded by people who are just as crazy about cars as I am.
But today is another big show!!

Some cars are special because of what they are. Others are special because of where they came from.
This one is both.
Rod Emory is back in the garage, and this time he’s bringing something very personal…his dad’s 1956 Baja Bug. Rod’s father was the guy who create the Baja Bug scene right here in California, turning ordinary Volkswagens into tough, capable off-road machines and becoming an icon of California car culture along the way.
You’ve seen him here with his incredible Outlaw Porsches and some of the wildest machines in the business. But this Beetle is different.
Come take a ride down memory lane with Rod, his dad’s Baja Bug, and a whole lot of California car culture.

It’s not every day you get to talk watches with the CEO of one of my favorite watch companies, but when that CEO is also a serious Porsche guy, we’ve got plenty to talk about.
Wilhelm Schmid, CEO of A. Lange & Söhne, stopped by the garage, and naturally, the conversation quickly moved from precision timepieces to precision engineering.
We take a look at Wilhelm’s passion for Porsche and compare two very different but equally fascinating cars: my Porsche Carrera GT and the legendary Porsche 356.
Turns out, whether you’re building a great watch or a great car, the details matter. And Wilhelm knows a thing or two about both.
Check out the latest episode of Jay Leno’s Garage.

Well, we finally got it done!
Leno’s Law has officially been signed into law by Governor Gavin Newsom. It’s been a long time coming, and I’m incredibly grateful to Senator Dave Cortese and Senator Shannon Grove for working together to get this across the finish line.
This is a big day for California’s car community. We’re preserving a piece of automotive history while recognizing that a collector car isn’t the same thing as a daily driver.
If you can get a Democrat and a Republican into the same garage, eventually something’s going to start!
Thanks to everyone who supported this effort along the way. Now let’s go enjoy some old cars.

The most copied shape in automotive design started as a manufacturing problem. Jay explains the Bugatti Type 57 SC Atlantic and the seam running down the middle of it.
In 1935, Jean Bugatti bodied a show car in Elektron, a magnesium alloy borrowed from the aircraft trade. Light, strong, and impossible to weld because magnesium burns. So he built the body in two halves and riveted them together down the centerline.
Ninety years later, a raised centerline still runs down the spine of every car Bugatti builds.
Jay's car is an original Bugatti Type 57 chassis wearing Atlantic coachwork. Four Atlantics were built between 1936 and 1938. Three survive, all in private hands.
He also gets into what the thing is actually like to live with, how it stacks up against cars you might own, the mechanical brakes, and why cleaning a car yourself is the fastest way to find out what's wrong with it.

Sure this Hornet has enough chrome to blind you in the sunlight, but underneath all that shiny stuff was a car that could really handle itself. The Hornet made a name for itself on the racetrack, especially when the road started getting twisty.
This beautiful 1953 Hudson Hornet Coupe belongs to Chris Duhon, and we’re joined by Steve Stratos from Mobil 1 to talk about what made the Hornet such a special machine.
I’m a pretty big fan of these myself, I actually own two of them. So when you get a chance to spend some time with a great Hornet, you take it.
It’s big, it’s covered in chrome, and it can really move when the road starts to bend.
