Jack Edwards may be one of the biggest voices in bookfluencing right now, but just a little over a year ago, he was struggling to get a book recommendations segment for celebrities off the ground ... until an interview with Cillian Murphy went viral. Edwards joined the Open Book with Jenna podcast to talk about his career from university vlogger to book influencer, and Edwards gave the scoop on how his now-viral interview with Cillian Murphy on the "Steve" press tour went down. "I was sitting outside the (press junket) room like it was the principal's office ... I hear from inside the room, an Irish voice say, 'Actually, could we just take a quick break?' ... They said, 'Oh, you can have a break after this one.' And I think, oh no. The one thing standing in the way of this man and a ham sandwich is me!" Edwards joked. However, Murphy and Edwards' shared love of literature helped the interview go viral. Murphy is known for his serious demeanor during interviews, but Edwards said he "saw Cillian light up, and (author) Max (Porter) was so excited ... Cillian was speaking so enthusiastically about the literature that he loves, and when we posted it, the reaction was just huge." ad Everyone’s talking about one of my favourite authors — even Dua Lipa’s Service95 book club — sooo here’s my book report (with no spoilers) for Klara and the Sun!!! This was Kazuo Ishiguro’s first book published after winning the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2017, and only served to prove exactly why he deserved it. It’s a story about Artificial Friends, and a warning about the limits of robots to understand true human emotion, despite their best efforts. Now Klara and the Sun is coming to the big screen, directed by Taika Waititi and starring Jenna Ortega!! I’m so intrigued to see how these elements are incorporated into the film, and see this new iteration of the story.
