We met Ian during a track day at COTA and one thing led to another and Ian secured his first real life racing seat with the Rafa Racing Team. Ian is over halfway through the season with Porsche Sprint Challenge, leading the series winning 6 out of 8 races thus far. A potentially promising weekend turned upside down in about a tenth of a second. As far as the North American races go, we started pretty far back in Race 1 on a track that’s tough to follow and overtake on. In Race 2, I passed multiple cars to move into P2 in class and 7th overall. Chloe held that position until a mechanical issue knocked us out of the race. Our pace kept getting faster the more track time we got. Moving on to the World Finals, I knew qualifying position was going to matter a lot. On my last lap, a much-needed flying lap, I put everything on the table, the car got loose, and I ended up in the wall. I feel like I let the crew and RAFA Racing down. Apologies to the team, Heyen Haus, Monoflo International, iRacing, Fanatec, and Elgato. We weren’t able to continue in the remaining two races of the Lamborghini World Finals. Physically, I’m okay. I’m going to stay and watch the finals and soak up some motivation. Most people don’t post about their racing mistakes. My situation is a little different. Everyone following and supporting this journey is basically the only reason I’m in the car in the first place. To me, you guys deserve to know the good, the bad, and the ugly.
