Trailer drop for Rites of Man I’m so thrilled to be a part of this film. I can’t express enough what a gift @fredsprinkle gave me in the music he wanted for his film. I got to be abstract, creative, and featured unlike any film I’ve worked on and it was just SO fun. I’m so happy to have won 1st place in the International Songwriting Competition in the category of R&B and Soul for my song Abandon Ship. I’ve spent most of my life pouring my heart into making music, managing expectations, learning to accept rejection as a part of the process. Days like this, where you are singled out after 14,000 submissions, is quite an honor. It feels really good to be recognized when most days you spend alone in your studio! AI music has no place in movies. Music is the “magic ingredient” in cinema, so when we made our short film, entirely captured on Kodak 16mm, we knew we had to work with a real (human) composer. Meet H.B. Thal (@h.b.thal) an LA-based composer who’s worked on TV shows and movies you love. We worked with her and musicians like @zrcello to bring our film to life.
