Cairo, you have left an imprint on us that words can hardly do justice. From the extraordinary setting of the Grand Egyptian Museum to the energy, culture and spirit of the people and artists who brought this evening to life, you made this chapter truly unforgettable.

Acclaimed Egyptian soprano Fatma Said filled the Grand Egyptian Museum with her voice, accompanied by an orchestra under the direction of Maestro Nader Abbassi, with a special appearance by legendary Egyptian composer Omar Khairat.
An extraordinary evening of Egyptian artistic excellence, set against a backdrop of thousands of years of civilization, artistic expression, and human creativity that continue to inspire the world.
And while the Grand Egyptian Museum celebrates the remarkable achievements of those who came before us, evenings like this remind us that Egypt's story is far from over.
Its art continues to evolve. Its creativity continues to flourish. And new chapters of its remarkable legacy are still being written. A beautiful reminder that the same land that gave the world so much to admire continues to give it so much to celebrate.

How has Ancient Egypt shaped the stories we tell today?
At GEM Talks: Ancient Egypt in Media, Ahmed Mourad, Mahmoud Rashad, and Yasmine El Dorghamy explored the influence of ancient Egyptian history on literature, cinema, and visual culture, and how its imagery and mysteries continue to inspire modern storytelling, from the fascination with Tutankhamun and Egyptian mummies to their connections with iconic works such as Frankenstein.
Moderated by Dr. Nancy Ali, the discussion offered a closer look at how the past continues to shape the way we imagine and interpret our world today.

Acclaimed Egyptian novelist and screenwriter Ahmed Mourad; filmmaker, director, and writer Mahmoud Rashad, creator of Umm al-Dunya; and publisher, curator, and educator Yasmine El Dorghamy, founder of Rawi Publishing for History, Heritage & Art, come together at GEM Talks for a discussion on Ancient Egypt in Media led by Dr. Nancy Ali, Director of Innovation at Legacy, operator of the GEM.

Join us for the next edition of GEM Talks: Ancient Egypt in Media, bringing together three distinguished voices from literature, cinema, and visual culture.
