Owner and Head Chef @scotthallsworth tells us more: “After 20 months in Balham, we’ve realised that Freak Scene isn’t quite the right fit for the area – a bit like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole! It’s a brand we love and believe in, so we’ll be taking it back to its roots in central London, where it originally began life in Soho, and where we think it’ll really shine. “But we’re going out with a bang! BBC’s Saturday Kitchen enjoyed a Balham twist last weekend, with local resident & chef @scotthallsworth cooking up a storm on the show! Scott, who’s the owner & head chef at both @freaksceneldn and @pinky_omakase on Ramsden Road in Balham, made viewers hungry by showcasing three dishes on the programme: - Fat yellow noodles with Masterstock braised short rib, XO, bacon and bok choy - Tuna sashimi ‘pizza’ - Milk-dashi white asparagus salad with Goma dressing, shallot ponzu and artichoke crisps Scott is the former head chef at Nobu London and founder of cult favourite Kurobuta, the ‘rock and roll izakaya’ group he launched in London in 2014.
