Came here because my friend highly recommended this spot. Definitely loved this meal and I can see why it’s one of the two viral udon carbonara spots in Tokyo.
The noodles are so bouncy and chewy and I loved the generous amount of freshly shaved Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese they give! Loved the crispy, fatty pork belly that came with the udon as well since it had so much flavor 😋
This place gets busyyy so plan to come a little before they open around 11:30AM or you might end up waiting for a while 🫣
Heard their hot udon is also delicious and I’d definitely recommend adding some tempura à la carte to add to your meal~

Must try Tendon (Tempura Don) in Ginza! I’ve never had wagyu tempura before but now I realize what I’ve been missing my whole life 😩
This shop specializes in rare tempura don bowls, a unique technique of frying the tempura while leaving the inside rare. Which means a juicy moist center of wagyu or tuna with a sashimi like center. The shop also gives you a pitcher of broth so you can make ochazuke with your tendon 😋.
Each bowl is made fresh to order as you can literally see him fry your tempura before your eyes.

Who else would get this giant tuna bone? 🐟🍴
I had this place on my list of spots to check out for a while and I finally made it out with @j.ritty 🙌.
If you’re looking a cozy yet classy Japanese izakaya with comforting food then this is your spot. 😤

@heen.nyc by @cafesosohage is popping up this weekend in the Teo Nomad space on Oct 17 & 18 from 12pm till sellout
their cakes are made with rice flour making them all gluten free! Plus the 6 flavors they are doing for the popup are so creative and innovative.
I tried the Mugwort Injeolmi and Earl Grey Grapefruit, both were so delicious, addicting and most importantly not too sweet!

with a bowl of ramen only $9.99 ($10.99 for spicy ramen), @cosparamen by the @handhospitality team takes inspiration from the Nagahama street stalls in Fukuoka, Japan bringing quick & affordable yet delicious ramen to NYC 😋
they’re opening this Thursday, Aug 13th! with daily hours of 10:30AM to 2AM so they’d be a great late night stop as well
loved their thin-style noodles and the rich tonkotsu broth which shocked me because of how affordable a bowl is 😭
they have a very limited menu of just regular or spicy ramen, kaarage, and being able to add extra chashu, egg, chashu
they also have a few drinks options and I loved the apple chu-hi they had which was super refreshing with the ramen 🙌

One of Umeko’s newest items is this Bluefin Toro maki overflowing with Uni from Hokkaido, Snow Crab, and Ikura 😋
A great accompaniment to their prix-fixe don sets when you want an à la carte option that has it all 🙌

@borobrine might be one of NYC’s best date night restaurants with their $98 tasting menu and $65 beverage pairing
their menu is seafood focused, that frequently changes with the season and I found their beverage pairing to an unbeatable value to accompany the tasting menu~
helmed by Execute Chef @mjnobello I loved seeing how his cultural background and culinary experiences were woven into the menu at the chef’s studio
in addition they also have a great 3 course Summer prix-fixe for $60 and an à la carte menu with some of their known favorites like their “filet-fish” and lobster pot pie 🙌

Pizza Studio Tamaki by chef @tsubasa.tamaki is one of Tokyo’s famous pizzerias that’s recently been making waves in NYC after opening their first location here!
@pst.nyc is known for their Tokyo-style Neapolitan pizza, I think they definitely live up to the hype. I found their dough to be so light, chewy and airy while still having a crispy crust.
Tried the Romana and 5 Formaggi pizzas which were both amazing, as well as their Caprese and Vanilla Ice cream with olive oil and sea salt. 😋
Their reservations release on a rolling 14 day basis at 10am, so definitely set your alarm and try to nab that reservation asap 🙌
