“Strange is the night where black stars rise, And strange moons circle through the skies, But stranger still is Lost Carcosa.” — R.W. Chambers, The King in Yellow (1895) When I first read Sam and Elena’s script, I was struck by how sensually they captured this horror story: intimate, restrained, dissonant. The King in Yellow is a modern retelling of Chambers’ haunting mythos that inspired Lovecraft and so many others.
