There is something SO powerful about putting brilliant women around one table, sharing what we know, making introductions and creating opportunities for one another. Because it’s not just about bringing women into a room. It’s about what happens AFTER. The relationships built, the doors opened and women genuinely helping each other get ahead. We are not each other’s competition. I've always been interested in what drives people to achieve the things they do, and how much of that ambition can come from wanting to prove something. That drive can take you incredibly far, but it doesn't necessarily mean you feel fulfilled when you get there.  When Lewis Howes came on Aspire, I wanted to pick up on a conversation we had previously on @greatness, where we talked about anger and how it can fuel enormous success. I was really interested in taking that conversation a step further and understanding what happens to that drive when you start to work through the pain behind it.  We got into the difference between chasing something because you genuinely want it and chasing it because you feel you have something to prove. We talked about healing, understanding your triggers, the beliefs we carry around money, and how to pursue big goals without making the outcome a measure of your worth.  After more than 2,000 interviews with some of the world's most successful people, Lewis has also developed a really interesting perspective on the traits they have in common. There are certain decisions in life that nobody else can make for you. And I think so many of us, spend WAY too much time putting them off!! We wait for the right moment, we worry about what everybody else needs, we convince ourselves that we'll figure it out later. But here's the thing. NOT making a decision is still making a decision!!! And whether you realize it or not, those choices are shaping the life you're building. I feel SO strongly about this because I think women need to be much more intentional about what we actually want for OURSELVES. In this week's episode of Aspire, I'm talking about some of the BIGGEST decisions I believe we owe ourselves. Whether or not you want children, who you choose to build your life with, the friendships you invest in and the risks you're willing to take to get what you want. And here's what I want every woman to understand. You don't need to have everything figured out. You don't need everybody to agree with your choices. And you CERTAINLY don't need anybody's permission!!!! But you DO need to get honest with yourself about what you want and start making decisions that move you towards it.
