FIG For GARDEN 28, the starting point was always tomato vine. Naturally, we drew inspiration from our own garden in London. Cucumber and apple swiftly followed - precision balanced into our top notes. But it needed softness. Adding fig changed everything - bringing a creamy, lactonic quality that rounded the entire blend. Our perfumer, Carole, describes it as a 'soft, earthy sweetness'. There's something about the flesh of the fig which is so visually appealing, but the real magic is in the science: Figs rely on a partnership with fig wasps for pollination. To pull this off, the plant releases aroma molecules that act as an olfactory signal to guide the wasps inside. That's how the familiar green, milky scent is born - it's all by design, and it's always with purpose. [Images from our own creative explorations] 29 Oct 2026
