5 cybersecurity legends you absolutely need to follow!
@kerem.tech @auraincyber @joshmadakor @kevtechitsupport @cybersecdyl
Always amazed by how many great people we have in our industry, and I love seeing our industry grow!
do we have bad apples? absolutely, but they get no air time and they tend to quickly fade into oblivion

This is something that defenders don’t usually get access to.
A hackers thought process, and why they took the actions they did.
Did they want to avoid a specific technique?
Do they think a certain method will trigger a detection?
Are they looking for specific data?
Thanks to awesome research by gambit security, who found exposed infrastructure. We were able to get a close look at an aurora ransomware operator into the attacks they were interested in, what they wanted to do, and what they wanted to avoid.
AI chat history is going to continue becoming a new source of intel and evidence for defenders

Constantly going through and reading threat reports that aren’t relevant to your tech stack is a thing of the past.
Using @claudeai I was able to build a fully customizable workflow that generates me a weekly readout of the TTPs I need to care the most about. With IOCs and Behavior matched to MITRE to feed my threat hunting workflows.

Looks like @nvidia and @perplexity are hard at work trying to solve the problem of massive token costs at organizations who have been blowing through their yearly AI budgets.
If we can push AI to run locally on hardware organizations and consumers own, the current market landscape can shift dramatically.
Let me know your thoughts?

The lie you’ve been sold that a cyber security degree will get you hired because there’s a “massive skills gap” isn’t your fault.
You have the degree, the certs, and followed your favorite creators roadmap. But you still can’t get hired.
Here’s the 3 things I would start doing today even if you are still in school. To boost your chances at getting hired.
Doing these aren’t a quick scheme either. It can take months or years to build the relationships and have the knowledge at the depth needed.
Cyber security isn’t something where you can get a job after 90 days of studying. Some people can, but it’s not a guaranteed outcome.

Everyone always tells you that a degree can’t teach you everything in cybersecurity.
That’s why I like to supplement learning with practitioners who have done the work.
GRC. @unixguycyber the best GRC creator, has been doing this a long time.
Cloud Security @wjpearce_ seeing his work on cloud security has taught me a lot, can’t wait for his techtwoforty course.
IOT hacking Matt Brown hacks hardware and makes videos on YouTube.

Here’s what I would do if I wanted to learn Digital Forensics in 2026 from scratch .
I have been investigating cyber crime for almost 8 years now across law enforcement, small businesses and large enterprises and was able to work at one of the best DFIR firms in the world at crowdstrike
Theres a way to approach investigations that I wish someone told me when I started
You need to answer three specific questions
How did the hacker gain access to my environment?
What did they do, what was their actions on objectives?
Did they access or exfiltrate data?
Answering these three questions are pivotal to any investigation and there’s 3 artifact classes you can use to prove that I would start with those.
1. Windows Event Logs - These will be the start and end of almost every case you work. They prove login and log off times, show remote access and help start / end a timeline. Parse with evtxcmd + timeline explorer
2. Amcache - this one shows execution, if the threat actor executed a binary in the system you can find it.
3. NTuser.dat + UsrClass.dat - grouping these together as 1 because they will provide the biggest picture of user activity. Shellbags show how the hacker traversed the file system, while MRUkeys can show file access, and userassist can show what programs the user executed. Good combo to see if the hacker performed data staging, executed rclone, or navigated to sensitive directories.
If you found this helpful, please save and send to a friend.

I was studying every day, learning different types of attacks
but I couldn’t apply any of it.
I didn’t understand how to actually do the things.
Then I discovered CTFs
CTFs are basically pre made challenges designed for you to solve.
They can range from hacking, reverse engineering, forensics and more.
Some are as easy as doing terminal commands, others have you reconstruct a ransomware attack.
Follow for more.

Comment TWIN and I’ll send the link for you to try twingate today!
Ditch your VPN for giving access to your network, vpns introduce risk and the need to manage access.
Twingate a Zero Trust Network Access Solution handles all of that, you pick what resources the user has access too and for how long. No need to give them access to your whole network.

Well…. That happened 👀
The biggest fear of mine when I started posting content was actually having people who I work with and former colleagues seeing it.
I work in cybersecurity where everything is technical.
Everyone is busy.
People generally don’t like “cyber gurus”
I don’t want to come across that way.
I want to provide value with almost every technical post I cover.
I didn’t want my peers to see my page and think I was trying to be a “cyber influencer” but that hasn’t been the reaction I’ve gotten at all.
Thanks for sticking around on this journey with me.
