⚠️ Winter Road Closures ⚠️
The temperatures are dropping and the snow is falling in the alpine, which means winter driving conditions are almost here. Take your time, give the car in front of you plenty of space, and be extra cautious of wildlife.

🚙 Chief Joseph Scenic Byway —WY 296
Open year-round, maintained by WYDOT up until Pilot Creek Parking Area. From Cody, Cooke City is not accessible by car starting late October/early November due to winter weather.

Some things change with time, but the spirit of the West has a way of sticking around. 🤠
Let's take a trip back to the beginning of Crossed Sabres Ranch, when it was known as Holm Lodge. With a history dating back to 1898, this property has welcomed travellers to Wyoming for generations.
The buildings and photographs tell a story of a different era, while the surrounding landscape remains as memorable as ever. Some places really do have stories worth looking back on.

Who knew the Wild West could be THIS haunted?!
October in @codyyellowstone is an adventure all its own, and I got to experience the spooky side of Wyoming during their annual Untamed & Boo season!
From checking into the historic (and haunted!) Irma Hotel, riding ATVs through the mountains to the abandoned ghost town of Kirwin with @outwestadventures.polaris , solving a murder mystery at the Chamberlin Inn, and conducting a private séance at Buffalo Bill’s hunting lodge… this trip was a paranormal girl’s DREAM.
We explored mysterious caves, wandered the haunted streets of downtown Cody, uncovered ghost stories around every corner, and even discovered paranormal activity at the Buffalo Bill @centerofthewest
But the ultimate grand finale? The Haunt 🎃 An incredible Halloween celebration filled with elaborate costumes, live music, art, food, drinks, and the kind of spooky atmosphere that makes October so magical.
The best part? While so many of Cody Yellowstone’s adventures can be enjoyed year-round, there’s something extra special about experiencing them during spooky season.

Happy Halloween from Cody Yellowstone! 🎃
From spooky stories to unforgettable seasonal events, we’ve had a frightfully good time celebrating the Untamed and Boo side of Park County.
On October 24, CodyArts hosted The Haunt for the 3rd year in a row, and it was a smashing success. This year, the winner of the costume contest—and $1,000 grand prize—was the legendary Zoltar!
Spooky season may be wrapping up, but the good times aren’t over. Untamed & Boo is back next year. Consider this your early warning…👻

I heard that if you stay at one of the most haunted hotels in Wyoming, have a séance at Buffalo Bill’s original hunting lodge, take an ATV to Kerwin ghost town, attend a murder mystery dinner, AND go to the Haunt, one of the best Halloween parties… you’re going to have a hard time topping this five day spooky trip in @CodyYellowstone! 🤠👻🖤

I spent 5 days exploring the spooky side of Cody Yellowstone! I quickly learned it’s nearly impossible to visit Cody without tracing the footsteps and influence of William F. Cody, AKA Buffalo Bill, who founded the town in 1896.
I started my trip at one of Wyoming’s most haunted hotels: the Irma Hotel, built by Buffalo Bill in 1902. Cody was meant to be the gateway to Yellowstone, with the Irma serving as a rest stop for travelers.
In Buffalo Bill’s words, it was “just the sweetest hotel that ever was.”
My favorite part of the trip was visiting Buffalo Bill’s original hunting cabin! It’s said to be just as haunted as the Irma. A historic log cabin. The creakiest of floors. Being there during the off season…. It’s a memory I’ll never forget.
I’m grateful I shared this trip with three inspiring, knowledgeable paranormal investigators. We gathered around a table in Buffalo Bill’s hunting cabin for a séance. Beckie goes, “You know what we could do?” And Courtney knew exactly where she was going with it. “Table tipping!”
This was my first time trying the table tipping method. We placed our hands flat on the table and feet flat on the floor. Eyes closed. Any spirits who wanted to communicate with us could use our energy to do so through the table. The table started tipping back and forth as we asked questions. My fingertips were numb and my right hand felt physically frozen. Definitely a highlight of my trip!
Also Cody Yellowstone knows how to throw a Halloween party!! I saw so many incredible and creative costumes at The Haunt, Cody’s annual Halloween party. I had way more fun than I anticipated and I fear this might become a Halloween tradition. 🎃
Thank you @CodyYellowstone for showing me how to get spooky in the Wild West of Wyoming! I’ll never forget this trip and hope to come back again 🤠🖤
