BEYOND R.E.G.A.R.D COUTURE RANGE SS27 A 17th-century Alphabet of Gemstones provided the historical foundation for our couture range, Beyond R.E.G.A.R.D. Its pages revealed a remarkable spectrum of glass crystal stones, each distinguished by its colour, lustre and the meanings and traditions attached to it. The book also offered insight into European aristocratic jewellery, where gemstones were arranged to spell words of love. We reimagined these gemological histories through more than 100,000 beads, evoking the glass crystal beads that inspired them. Beyond R.E.G.A.R.D. looks beyond a gemstone’s brilliance to explore its colour, symbolism and place in the cultural imagination. The colour palette of our BEYOND R.E.G.A.R.D couture range is inspired by the 17th-century Alphabet of Gemstones. Our technicolour R.E.G.A.R.D. dress features more than 6,000 mother-of-pearl buttons. Each visible button is secured by a second button on the underside. R — Ruby; love, passion, vitality E — Emerald; hope, renewal, wisdom G — Garnet; protection, constancy, enduring affection A — Amethyst; clarity, calm, spiritual balance R — Ruby; reinforces love and devotion D — Diamond; strength, permanence, eternal commitment.
