Dear Reader, I’m not sure how to start writing this message. I know what I want to say, but I have no clue how to say it. But I owe an explanation to both you, and myself. So… I’ll just type out my feelings.. At the end of 2017, everything seemed to be going my way. I signed a record deal with Sony Music and released my song ‘Crashing Down’ together with my sister. Crashing Down reached ‘viral’ status in multiple countries across the world and gathered millions of streams across streaming platforms… I had dreamed of sharing my music with people all across the world most of my life, so why did I stop? It has taken me a long time to understand it myself but now, one year later, I understand what happened and I feel confident enough to share this with you and restart my dream. That is what it was all about… Dreaming. It sounds really easy to do, but for me it was one of the hardest things. I was not raised to ‘follow my heart’ or ‘defy the status quo’. Not in an artistic manner at least. I did not believe in my dreams enough, I did not believe in myself enough. The more I realised that I was throwing my ‘chance’ away, the harder it became to keep having faith that I could build a future by making music. They say the biggest demons you will face in life, are your own. And it took me a year to figure this out. But I am back. More focused than ever. I have so many more songs to write. And it is not all going to be fun. Because this year has not been a good one. And I need music to deal with the things that happened. And I would love to share this music with all of you. So I guess what I want to say is: Don’t lose hope, cause you’ll regret it. Don’t let go of your dreams because you’ll be 80 years old one day, wishing you hadn’t done so. I will take January to spend time with my girl to travel and write new songs. And once I get back home, we will make 2019 our year.
