If I was still doin’ SEMA awards, the @checkerdsports Tacoma would’ve taken home Top Honors, if not Best of Show! 🏆 Know this truck’s been posted a bunch, but wanted to share more details + history: 🏎️ Basically a road-course-ready race car underneath a first-gen Tacoma. TIG-welded tube chassis, 400hp 2.5L K24 behind removable cab, Sadev paddle-shift sequential trans, nearly 50/50 weight distribution and target weight around 1,600 lbs. 👨‍🔧 Sadev sequential is commonly found in Formula 3/4 race cars, not something you see in enthusiast builds. It doubles as part of the rear chassis, supporting the suspension and crash box. Owner/builder Raul designed the suspension geometry and billet rockers himself, with MCS dampers built to spec. Other goodies include Palatov knuckles, AP Racing brakes and beautiful custom fab work like the aluminum floor, bellhousing adapter (for factory-size clutch) and metal fender flares. 📚 Raul’s roots are in mini-trucks, then became a hardcore Honda guy building Civics and Integras. His K-swapped EG was featured in Honda Tuning back in the day. IMO this is the type of build that deserves a magazine cover or poster feature.
