TWAIN is available to watch on YouTube. Link in bio. Thank you to the festivals that programmed us, the juries that awarded us, and the audiences who turned up in cities around the world. Short films are a labour of love, and every selection and award meant more than we can say. Forever grateful to our amazing cast and crew credited below. @twainfilm Writer & Director @bypip Producers @daisyedgarjones @mr_t_allen @ben_jacobsmith @sylviebriggs_ Starring @eannahardwicke Supporting Cast @tonior @frankblake01 @andrew_mcgeachie Jaxon & Jacob Nolan Casting Director Steph Tataryn 1st AD @mr_t_allen 2nd AD @rt_godfrey PA @wilf_mckie PA @indismith PA @izzy_meikle Director of Photography @chrisclarkedop 1st AC @samuel35mm 2nd AC @yung.antz DIT Romek Sudak Gaffer Bernie Prentice Gaffer Chris Dowling Spark Conrad Russell Spark Tom Craven Production Sound Mixer @waverleyhudsonsound Production Designer @giorgia_joseph_art Art Dept @spinch3301 Art Dept @bleiph Costume Designer @sarahyoung_costumedesign Costume assistant @brown_tallulah Hair & Make Up Dept @nadiastaceyhairmakeupdesign @gingerprincess.co.uk @ellen_dandradebrown Security Femi Johnston Production Photographer @johnarmour Editor @bypip VFX @freefolkstudios VFX Supervisor @jjwatts Compositor @andycopping Colourist @marty_colour Sound Design @patchland @machinesound.co Music @machinesound.co @theflightmusic Studio Location: JJ Wimborne House Special Thanks @harry_thee_baptist @joshgimber @lewislehrfreund @jp.blunt.edit @jjwatts @jjstudioslondon_ @jjlighting_ @freefolkstudios @machinesound.co 30 Jul 2026 If at first you don’t succeed, Tri-X and Tri-X again. Twenty years ago, I shot my first roll of film. Two decades on, I still find myself working much the same way: alone with a camera, playing, experimenting, and developing new ideas. Some parts of the craft I feel I’ve mastered. Others remain a mystery, as perhaps they always should. If all these years have taught me anything, it’s that mastery isn’t the absence of mistakes - it’s the accumulation of them. That, and the refusal to stop learning. In this new artificial age, we’re sold efficiency as the highest virtue: fewer errors, faster results, shortcuts to the finished product. But in the pursuit of artistry, I think the opposite is true. Time isn’t the cost of the work; it is the work. I’ve spent thousands of hours behind the lens obsessing over the details no one else may notice, honing my craft. Many of them have been repetitive, unremarkable, or frustrating. But every so often, the light conspires in my favour, and all that groundwork gives way to a moment of in-camera alchemy - or a small step into new creative territory. That is what patience eventually becomes. Sending love and admiration to anyone striving and surviving in the arts. Whatever it is you do: do it your way, make many mistakes, and take your time. 🖤 08 Jul 2026 Bella for @bazaaruk 🩶 Thank you to an incredible team. @bellamaclean wears @louisvuitton and @bvlgari Harper’s Bazaar EIC @lydiasmag Photographer @bypip Stylist @crystallecox Creative Director @zoyakaye  Fashion Director @avrilmair Photography Director @jeslucy Entertainment editor and Interview @nicolafahey Set designer @jgdmn Set assistant @kikadiasdasilva @olliekariel Hair Stylist @patrickwilson Make-up artist @ginakanemakeup Manicurist @sabrinagayle__ Photo assistant @_jackstorer Digital technician @em_rbrt Production assistant @theleilalife Stylist assistants @hadyaa_ and @laurynjdoherty 04 Nov 2026 Century Rose. This is not filmed - it is photographed. This is 100 individual photographs, captured on medium format B&W film, brought together to create a 360-degree rotation of a single white rose. The rose remained in place (suspended by fishing wire) while I moved the camera precisely around it, photographing it from 100 different angles. Every frame was meticulously composed, shot, developed, scanned and arranged into the sequence you see here. No CGI, no compositing, no rendering, no automation. Of course, I could have just filmed it, or made it digitally. We’re living in a time when almost anything can be made to look like anything, often in a matter of seconds. But I’ve always felt that making art is about more than arriving at the finished image. It’s about the experience of getting there. The time, the patience, the mistakes, the discoveries. There’s something so rewarding about choosing the long way. Not because I have to, but because I believe there’s immense dignity and joy in the process itself. For anyone wondering - it is a real rose. Several hours into the shoot, the leaves had begun to wilt. Look closely towards the end of the rotation and you’ll notice them dip slightly, before springing back to life as the sequence loops. A small reminder that something lasting just a few seconds on screen took so many hours to shoot. These portraits are from the very first time I photographed Richard, thirteen years ago at his home. I loved making these with her - fierce, funny and uncompromisingly herself 🤍 22 Sep 2026 George 🧡 I love this guy. And @sensesensibilityfilm is a triumph of a film, made by true artists. Go see it in the cinema 25th Sept (UK) 16th Oct (US) ✨ 16 Sep 2026 10 Questions with Pip. Photographer, writer and director Pip joins us for the latest instalment of 10 Questions. We talk about the move from photography into filmmaking, the difference between finding an image and building a scene, collaboration, authorship, performance - and the feature film he’s currently developing. As Pip puts it: “Photography taught me to look for the image; filmmaking taught me to look beyond it.” The full conversation is now on the Mamnick Journal. Comment READ and we’ll send you the link. Photography courtesy of Pip. 10 Sep 2026 People often ask me who I’ve most enjoyed photographing in my career. I’ve always found it a difficult question to answer. I’ve been lucky enough to work with some remarkable people over the years, many of them extraordinary in very different ways. But the older I get, the more I realise it has very little to do with the photographs. It’s the conversations, the stories traded, and what someone leaves with you long after the shoot is over. Every time I’ve worked with Ian, I’ve come away reminded of why the arts matter, why generosity matters, and why life is worth pursuing with curiosity and humour. He is, of course, a giant of the game. But what stays with me most is the warmth, the wisdom, the wit, and a gentleness far too few possess. 09 Sep 2026 Bella for @bazaaruk 🤍 Thank you to an incredible team. @bellamaclean wears @louisvuitton and @bvlgari Harper’s Bazaar EIC @lydiasmag Photographer @bypip Stylist @crystallecox Creative Director @zoyakaye  Fashion Director @avrilmair Photography Director @jeslucy Entertainment editor and Interview @nicolafahey Set designer @jgdmn Set assistant @kikadiasdasilva @olliekariel Hair Stylist @patrickwilson Make-up artist @ginakanemakeup Manicurist @sabrinagayle__ Photo assistant @_jackstorer Digital technician @em_rbrt Production assistant @theleilalife Stylist assistants @hadyaa_ and @laurynjdoherty 04 Nov 2026
