Of the 70 countries we’ve explored, Bhutan is easily one of the most unique and dazzling. Unlike places that water down their culture for Western consumption, this Himalayan Kingdom’s well-preserved heritage is deeply layered and all the more beautiful when peeled back with local guidance. Traveling for 18 days with @BridgeToBhutan, they made us feel like family, inviting us into their homes, rituals, and world long hidden from the outside. From trekking to the famous Tiger’s Nest Monastery to joining a mask dance festival, glamping at 12,000 feet, cheering at archery tournaments, river rafting past 17th-century fortresses, sleeping in temples, watching artisans at work, planting trees with the Bhutan Ecological Society, and sharing tea with nomadic cow herders….here's this unbelievable trip in 90 seconds!
Let these pics wash over you and stay tuned for our in-depth HoneyTrek blog on the magic of Bhutan 🇧🇹!

Lung dhar prayer flags are everywhere in Bhutan 🇧🇹 As the wind moves the fabric, the prayers and mantras printed on them are believed to carry blessings to all living beings.

I asked a Buddhist nun in Punakha, Bhutan, Deki Dolma, what four years in a nunnery had taught her.
Save this if you travel to understand people, not just places. 🇧🇹
Thank you @bridgetobhutan for opening doors we could never have opened on our own 🙏🏽

5 must do experiences in Bhutan🇧🇹
1) Visit Tashichho Dzong, located in Thimphu, it serves as the seat of the Royal Government and houses the throne room and official offices of the King👑
2) Walk over Punakha Suspension Bridge, the longest suspension bridge in Bhutan 🌉
3) Explore Punakha Dzong (Fortress), situated between the two rivers Pho Chu and Mochu (Male and
Female River), now used as the winter seat of the Je Khenpo (the Spiritual head of Bhutan). This Dzong had served as the capital seat of the Kingdom for more than three hundred years 🏯
4) Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery, the most iconic day trek in Bhutan. The sacred Buddhist monastery clings dramatically to a sheer cliff face 900 meters (3,000 feet) above Paro 🐅
5) Eat at a farm house, ask @bridgetobhutan to create your itinerary and they can book one for you 👌🏽

Would you want to be on this plane?
Landing in Bhutan is an adventure before your adventure even begins.
Paro International Airport is considered one of the most challenging airports in the world, tucked into a narrow Himalayan valley surrounded by mountains towering over 18,000 feet. The approach requires incredible precision, sharp turns, and specialized training, with only a small number of pilots certified to land here, often cited as around 50 worldwide.
For aviation enthusiasts, this is the ultimate bucket-list landing. And for the rest of us? A breathtaking reminder that sometimes the journey is just as extraordinary as the destination.
Welcome to Bhutan, where even arriving feels like an adventure.

Every day traditions in Bhutan
Bhutan is a country where tradition isn’t tucked away in museums or reserved for special occasions. It’s woven into the rhythm of everyday life.
You’ll see people walking clockwise around stupas and spinning prayer wheels as acts of devotion, red chilies laid out to dry on rooftops, and families welcoming guests into their homes to share a meal while seated together on the floor. You’ll find prayer flags dancing in the mountain wind, monks in crimson robes, homes adorned with intricate wooden carvings, and tiny offerings placed at sacred sites.
In the capital, there are no traffic lights. Instead, a single police officer directs the flow of cars from an ornate white booth, turning an ordinary intersection into something uniquely Bhutanese.
Here, happiness is measured differently, spirituality is part of daily life, and ancient customs coexist with the modern world. It’s a reminder that progress doesn’t have to mean letting go of the things that make a culture beautiful. Sometimes, the greatest richness of a place lies in the traditions it chooses to keep alive.
A special thank you to @bridgetobhutan for their incredible hospitality, warm welcome and utmost professionalism in helping us navigating the happiest country on the planet, Bhutan.

Bhutan is one of the least visited countries and is the last of the small, hidden Buddhist kingdoms in the Himalayas to unlock the doors to its mysteries. 🇧🇹
It is a country where Gross National Happiness (GNH) is the official development policy. GNH is a holistic approach to development emphasizing the importance of spiritual well-being alongside economic prosperity.
Steeped in legends and mysticism, the country has much in store that is reflected in its distinct culture and people’s way of life.
The Land of the Thunder Dragon, as its original name “Drukyul” implies, was never colonized and has maintained its sovereignty and independence throughout the centuries, repelling invasions from the strongholds of its fortified monasteries called “Dzongs.”
What an honor and pleasure is to explore this magical land with @bridgetobhutan & @tourismbhutan 🧡💛🐦🔥
How many of these facts did you know?

Beautiful Bhutan 🇧🇹
Bhutan has been one of those places that stays with you long after you leave.
A country tucked into the Himalayas, where prayer flags dance in the wind, monasteries cling to mountainsides, and happiness is measured in something far more meaningful than material wealth. Visiting Bhutan with @bridgetobhutan has reminded me that travel isn’t just about seeing somewhere new. It’s about learning to see the world, and perhaps yourself, a little differently.
There’s something incredibly special about a place so deeply rooted in its traditions, spirituality, and connection to nature. From spinning prayer wheels and walking around sacred stupas to taking in the breathtaking mountain views, every moment feels like an invitation to slow down, be present, and appreciate what’s right in front of you.
Bhutan isn’t just a destination. It’s a feeling, a perspective, and a gentle reminder that sometimes the richest experiences in life have nothing to do with what we own, but everything to do with how we live.
Some places you visit. Others leave a little piece of themselves with you. Bhutan, you’ll be one I carry with me. ❤
